What are some things you are truly passionate about? Have you ever lost passion for this thing at one point or another? Why? Or have you always been passionate about it no matter what!

I'm passionate about voice acting. Me and friends voice act silly things for RPG Maker all the time. I also did voice acting for a few indie games. I may start doing freelance stuff at voices.com.

I've been doing silly voice acting stuff since I was a little kid. Making cassette recordings of funny stories I made up in my head and sending them to people in the mail.

My grandmother used to take me to the library when I was younger, but I don't think it really caught on until my mom started working at a library and I went to work with her. I'd read all day long. I like high fantasy the best. Then I started to write my own fantasy stories in high school. My favorite classes were always literature classes. I love discussing characters with people, what the books main point is, what one can learn from it, etc. I like introducing people to books I think they might like, and I can get pretty passionate about it when I talk to them about it... I just love old book stores, or just being around books. Libraries are one of my favorite hangouts.

I was telling my sister that I think she would love this one book series. Evidently I was getting carried away, and I think I shocked her, because I'm usually pretty laid back and reserved...but then I got excited about this certain series and she was like, whoa!

I've never stopped being passionate about books, but I have gone through periods where I didn't read.

I'm also pretty passionate about fairy lights, twinkle lights, and fairies. love it. I love going to fairy festivals, and yeah...I had my old room decorated in fairy stuff. A part of me never quite grew up...I love fairy lore. I would often imagine myself in a fantasy world. I would like to put fairy lights all over my house so it would be magical, but I figured the electric bill would be ridiculous.

I can kind of get passionate and nerdy about things like LOTR, too. Or Harry Potter. Some movies.

I feel like a total dork now. Lol.
Oooh same here no need for feeling like a dork. I'd read books and manga at the library (still do) and love to ramble about the characters and theories behind the characters. Same with video game characters, cartoon characters, and tv characters. I have a strange obsession with elementals. I also like thinking of random indie game ideas. Today it was "Tales of Street Santa" where Santa is homeless and raids dumpsters, and then fills stockings with crap from dumpsters. It is game over if you get arrested!

I love music so much. And even more so, dancing. Never lost passion for it, never will. I have a couple of physical/motivational issues so that obstructs me here and there in rigorous practice (choreography is so hard... ). But other than that, it's pretty much a reliable constant in my life.

I'm passionate about the Bible. To a lesser degree, I'm passionate about Middle Earth, virtual breeding, linguistics and its relation to culture (with a focus on Finnish), online friends, charts, ...probably other things too, but of course there are varying levels of passion.

What are the physical and motivational issues if I may ask? And what are your favorite genres of music? I can't dance I'm too clumsy, though I took dance lessons and failed so bad. So I end up using a mini trampoline and jump to music I enjoy. It is good exercise!

Oh no worries! There must have been certain things about the relationship that sparked the passion! If I may ask what things about the relationship brought your life passion?

The Bible really does have some awesome stories in it! What aspects of the Bible draw you to it most? I really love some of the stories in it. Also what is virtual breeding?

I've always loved the stories. And it seems to alight my soul when I tell people Bible stories. I like the little details other people bypass, like the fact that Jael had milk and one of Judea's best times was during a recency.
The Bible is also full of amazing tidbits of profound truths and wisdom, most of which I agree with. And on the occasions when I go, "Wait, what?," I end up learning something. And sometimes I'm reading something or explaining something and it clicks how that relates to another part of the Bible. And even more special than that are the times when I'm reading something I've read before and an understanding comes to me that's not anything I could have gleaned from the text
It's history, it's wisdom, it's a puzzle to unravel, it's the story of my love. So the question is: why don't I read it every day?

Virtual breeding is when a game lets characters have kids whose traits and looks are based off their parents' traits and looks. Playing with punnet squares would be a form of virtual breeding: all the genetic combining with none of the sex.

Wow, I'm a huge RPG Maker fan too lol. I still use Rpg Maker 2003 though the newer ones haven't appealed to me. In the process of working on a huge RPG maker game for the forum and it takes a lot of time and effort damn.

    My interests are:

    RPGs/video game design
    fan fiction/writing short stories
    tv tropes
Gay porn, straight porn, the gay porn industry, homosexuality in general
Campy supernatural tv shows with magic like Charmed/Angel/Buffy/Xena/Once upon a Time/Shadowhunters
Bad lifetime movies from the 90s
Mad magazine/mad tv (the old one the reboot is pretty awful imo)

I like things that are 'wow that was so bad it was really good.' I am very much part of the bad-is-good community and I am turned off by art I find too pretentious and try hard-y. I like when an artist can make me go 'Hmm that was way more amusing than it ought to be.' Generally, I like the tone to be lighthearted (but not sitcomy) or just interesting - but I still want a few characters to be killed off by the villain. Reality sucks, and so often I just appreciate being entertained.

Did you use the Don Miguel stuff? I was mostly in to OHRRPGCE but I used all the RPG Makers too. I've written fan fiction but only posted one publicly online. The rest I shared with friends. I was big in to comic books and Mad magazine but not so much now since I can read most of what I want online.

Mintwind, have you read Mark Twain's?? Its really awesome. He said of his book:

"I like Joan of Arc best of all my books; and it is the best; I know it perfectly well. And besides, it furnished me seven times the pleasure afforded me by any of the others; twelve years of preparation, and two years of writing. The others needed no preparation and got none." --Mark Twain
@Blue, you would love it too, it starts with quite a bit about fairies! Delightful, and made wonder, are they real??

I am a fan of (old) Mad mag. Growing up I had a friend on summer vacations who was a Trekkie and her enthusiasm for Mad's Star Trek issues was infectious.

Tonight dh and I watched Royal Night Out on Netlix and we really enjoyed it. It has an almost 5 star rating and I can see why. I think you might like it!

@mintwind, more reviews of Marc Twain's Joan of Arc:

Mark Twain comes furtively like Nicodemus at night with this tribute to one of God's saints. In doing so he tells a secret about himself. It is as though the man in a white suit and a cloud of cigar smoke thought there just might be a place where people in white robes stand in clouds of incense. --Fr. George Rutler, Author, The Cure d'Ars Today

Joan of Arc is the lone example that history affords of an actual, real embodiment of all the virtues demonstrated by Huck and Jim and of all that Twain felt to be noble in man, Joan is the ideal toward which mankind strives. Twain had to tell her story because she is the sole concrete argument against the pessimistic doctrines of his deterministic philosophy. --Robert Wiggins, Mark Twain: Jackleg Novelist
"A man with a definite belief always appears bizarre, because he does not change with the world; he has climbed into a fixed star, and the earth whizzes below him like a zoetrope."

Do you have any facts to back this up? I think it's great in moderation. We're already so repressed as a society with sex as it is that it's often people's only outlet. Also your comment in parenthesis was passive aggressive and maybe a little patronizing. You can say whatever you want, never walk on eggshells around me if we're gonna be friends but don't try to control my emotional reactions about anything. I will treat you with the same respect. (and no I did not really mind what you said but im just saying)

Everything's wholesome, until the betas get involved.

“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung

I like your frankness, BnD, its why I like you. I guess what I said can come across as emotionally controlling, and I don't want to do that. I am sorry. Also I was not being passive aggressive, that's not one of my (many) faults. I was just feeling free to express my opinion and I felt this trust, because you are so frank, that you would not mind me expressing it. But I see it came across instead like I was patronizing you, and that is offensive. I am sorry.

I appreciate your saying I don't need to walk on eggshells with you too. I know what's that like; it was a part of my life too long. Please do continue to say exactly what you think!

I avoid porn like a poison. I think Aylen is saying you are Beta and I do notice Beta's are less squeamish about things than Delta's in general...Maybe sometime I will start a thread on the facts... but its not my favorite subject. As a parent you cannot dictate what your child will do/choose but you can at least tell your beliefs, and so I told my (SLE) son: always avoid porn, because it is the work of the evil one and powerful and intelligently crafted to pull you in and enslave you, designed to rob you of the normal joys of real sex. Instead of enjoying real sex which is made by God to be enjoyable desirable and deeply fulfilling, you will need more and more perversion, like a drug where you need more and more hard stuff to achieve the same high, and it will turn you into a pervert that you could not imagine being now, that right now you would be disgusted by. You will need perversion or perverted thoughts to enjoy sex, and it will ruin your enjoyment of sex with your wife. So you won't have a good sex life in real life. That was my heartfelt thoughts on the matter, and I only got to say that once, and I hope it stuck.. I had also said you should remember those women are someone's daughter and sister, view them that way. Yes, so I said its no good to mix with this stuff, but I also know he learned from me that nothing is ever hopeless, and that God can make all things new.

I think society is repressed, too, but in a different way. I think that free-sex, meaningless sex and multiple hook-ups represses people's natural deep satisfying enjoyment of sex leaving instead an restless insatiable hunger and emptiness, so I think that's the repressing part about sex today. But I think we are repressed in so many ways today that people look for relief in free sex (which ends up enslaving them). I think our system of education, our economy, our medical system - all are enslaving and also there is the media telling us we can't think for ourselves so we have to listen to them to know what we should think... That's repressing!

"Having a clear faith, based on the creed of the Church, is often labeled today as fundamentalism... Whereas relativism, which is letting oneself be tossed and swept along

    Nice thread! I'll join

Things I'm passionate about: Jesus, people (especially kids), music, family, dogs, and video games.

Jesus: because I want to live and love like Him. He loved people so much that He died for them, despite having done nothing wrong Himself. That's the greatest kind of love. I believe Jesus is the answer on how to love without becoming bitter, and to sacrifice without expectation, nor falling into a victim mentality. It's a freeing kind of love. That kind of love is pure. It's unmerited. It's humbling. To know that I am loved like that is an awe and a joy that I will spend my entire life trying to comprehend.

People: because I just love them. They're messy, humorous, and awkward at times, but they try. Kids are especially creative, imaginative, innocent, pure, wide eyed. They bring excitement and laughter and joy wherever they go. And I love them all, especially when they share their innermost thoughts, feelings, and cares with you.

Music: because it's universal and expressive. Songs that sound "sad" in one culture will universally sound sad in others. It pierces the senses and connects with the inner person. It expresses what spoken and written words alone couldn't express, and it's a joy to share in with others. It's an even greater joy to learn to master, to manipulate and alter through other instruments and methods, and there is no limit when learning it because there are as many genres, techniques, and styles as there are cultures, dialects, and tribes. There is always something new to learn!

Family: because they've displayed great love and patience for me throughout my life. They've supported me in my goals, comforted or forgave me in light of my mistakes. They help me grow and have my back no matter the circumstances. They showed me how to commit to one another, and how to bear one another's burdens.

Dogs: because they're all about loyalty and their pack. I have a mini goldendoodle named Oliver. If I'm sick, he won't even go outside to play when my husband asks him. He'll stay next to me for days and snuggle at my side. They're always happy to see you, they love to play, they're expressive and fluffy, they're smart and discerning, and they all have their own personality.

Video Games: because they invite you to take part in new stories, experiences, events, and locations. It opens the door to new creatures, galaxies, and roles, and the possibilities are limitless. They pose interesting ethical questions along with creative fodder for the brain, and offer ways to share in the fun with friends and family either locally or abroad. Some of my favorite memories were playing games with my family and friends- N64's Goldeneye 007, Super Mario Kart, NES' Balloon Fight, or Xbox's Halo. I especially love games that center on characters and their stories or development, thus RPG, scifi, and adventure / exploration genres- Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, Zelda, World of Warcraft, and games of that nature.
And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you?- Matthew 6:30

I think I am mostly passionate about music, it means so much to me. My style and fashion are absolutely dependant on the kind of music I listen to. More than listening to musc, I love to create it and to sing. I am that sort of a person who has a specific idea of who I should and want to be and everything needs to be in a perfect harmony with my hobbies, life style, fashion etc... so music brings just more and more obsessions that drive me to create a perfect ideal of myself. Everything I do, I am and I prefer is about music though.
I feel a stong need to belong somewhere so being a part of an underground scene menas also a lot to me.

Recently I sat down at my computer and created an elaborate excel spreadsheet. Initially it was for work; however, I eventually I almost felt giddy from it. The structure of it. I'm not sure exactly.

I'm passionate about learning, particularly science-related topics. I've been reading books regarding genetics and virology recently in my free time...and parasites...

I like sitting in front of a contained fire...and I feel passionate about sleep. woot.
