    Default Type this relationship

    Erotic attitudes, perhaps?

Juan rolled over and slapped the top of his blinking digital alarm clock. He resumed the fetal position grumpily, pulling the cushy white comforter up to his face to shield his eyes from the early morning sun which sought to invade his chamber of rest.

His wife stirred next to him; he felt her roll over beneath the covers. Her warm breath grazed his face as she let out a long, sleepy sigh in his direction. Juan feigned sleep. He knew that she was looking at him, expecting him to get up and get ready for work, and that, in a few seconds, he would get a firm nudge in the diaphragm if he refused to acknowledge her stare. He kept his eyes closed, not too tight, not too loose; if she thought he had actually fallen asleep again, he might get some leeway.

Sure enough, a moment later, he felt a knee softly invade the space just below his sternum; she knew that this would always wake him up. He kept pretending. He knew that the next one would hurt, because she knew he was awake now, but it was too early, and the sun was just to bright.

    "Juan. Juan, wake up."

He braced himself for the nudge, but it didn't come. Slowly, he felt a leg creeping between his own two. He felt her breath on his face. A hand wrapped around his waist, and she planted a firm but gentle kiss directly on his lips.

    Juan couldn't help a smile.

He opened his eyes, and saw his lover there, gazing expectantly at him from across the pillow. When she saw that his eyes were open, she smiled and let out an airy chuckle.

    "Get up!"

He rolled over, groaning playfully, and clutched his pillow. It was on now. She kneed him in the back, not holding back this time.

"Hey, take it easy!" he whined.

    "Then get up!"

Another groan. She laughed, this time out loud, and began pushing at the small of his back; she knew there was no way she could ever move someone his size, but she was feisty, and she knew that, if pestered enough, Juan would get up eventually.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Off-topic, but the writing style reminds me of the passages in the SAT critical reading tests—especially the last part: “She laughed, this time out loud, and began pushing at the small of his back; she knew there was no way she could ever move someone his size, but she was feisty, and she knew that, if pestered enough, Juan would get up eventually.”

I don't know why. Anyway. Although this was a cute story, do you really think it's related to erotic attitudes? I mean, I don't think one person is always going to need to be motivated to get up, while one person is always going to be the motivator. Tbh, I immediately thought that I would do something similar to what she had done—and I have, actually. But I think the roles can be reversed just as easily.

It's interesting that you would say that, for the particular typing that I had in mind for the pair. I won't give away why just yet; I want to see some other takes. But I want to come back to this.

Yeah even gentle nagging can be extremely grating. Hmmmm, I guess ideally a "softer" wake up would be more pleasant...

It'd depend on who woke up earlier. If it was me then I'd probably nag lol.

idk, theres too many variables that could affect this situation for me to generalize.

I don't want anyone waking me up, certainly not like that! good grief. The one way I don't mind being woken up (and my husband does this) is by quietly placing a cup of coffee on my bedside table and walking away. Ahhhhh.....

One time, I was probably 14-15 and travelling to a track meet with some other girls. That was a sad weekend for me. I had pulled a muscle and so missed the qualifying run for the 200y, but went to the meet anyway hoping to talk my way into the race. I imagine that was an extremely pathetic sight, my pleading, "Just let me run! Please! I'll prove it, I can beat every one of them! Just give me a chance, I'll run in the far outside lane. I'll even start after everyone else if you want. Please just let me run!" I didn't talk them into it

Anyway, one of the girls who was there for throwing the shot-put came over to me in my sleep and touched my shoulder saying my name to wake me up. I apparently kicked her backwards and she landed on her butt. Then my sister said, "Diana!" in a reprimanding kind of way and I woke up with everyone laughing, and I had no idea what was going on.

I always wake up really easily. Sometimes it takes me a while to get out of bed, but once I'm up, I'm UP.

Well now that a few people have shared their opinions, I'll go ahead and say that this was my depiction of a snapshot of my ideal relationship, a snapshot that is very representative of the kind of thing I see myself needing from a partner.

I could imagine Juan as a lazy-ass IP of some sort and his lover an Se creative perhaps.

Oh, I didn't read this when I posted. I think what you're aiming at is Se in general, but I also think you wrote it having IM's in mind.

If some tried to knee me out of bed when I was sleeping, I would probably hit them really hard (lashing out by kicking, probably) and continue sleeping.

It's not that I'm against play-violence, its just that I'm pretty play-violent myself and awfully reactive/volatile in that respect.

This could be true, but I don't see an IP sticking with this for too long. And about Se creative, I guess that makes sense but ESxj also seem like the type to do this. Se id allows that bossy/controlling thing but in this case it is a bit more tempered than it would be in an Se ego type. Saying that, I am not sure it would be a recurrent thing, as is suggested.

I don't think that means anything...the cross section is impossibly small, way too insignificant to mean anything, and my story doesn't have anything to do with a "sense of duty or goal" or whatever.
