I just picked up these two cds last week on a whim. I like the second one better than the first. They're not bad, though.
I haven't heard of most of the ones mentioned so far.
It's really hard for me to choose favorites. There's a lot I like and at different times and with different moods I like some better than others. Also, I tend to like artists and their works as a whole rather than just albums.

I have a hard time picking favorites too, for exactly the same reasons, which is why I listed so many different albums.
For me, it's specific songs that really impact me that I really remember more than the albums themselves.

Radiohead is very different from OLP. Just the tone and ideas of Spiritual Machine was already done in O.K. Computer. But like I said, Spiritual Machines is still by far one of my favorite albums. I really got into reading about Ray Kurzweil's book, Age of Spiritual Machines after I heard that album. Good book too.
They don't sound the same, not at all.
My favourite album is 'Colour The Small One' by Sia. It was released in 2004 and is quite different from what Sia is singing now. This album is special to me because I like every single one of the songs, which usually doesn't happen. They're soft and yummy, and I listen to it, whenever I need to calm down and relax.

I could have said radiohead Kid A or amnesiac some time ago but I begin to be a bit annoyed by their song. They sound pretentious lol.
At these moment I often listen to pink floyd - ummagumma, I think it's the best album from the band.
I got the first Sigur Ros ("Von"), good stuff.
Bookend from Simon & garfunkel is very good too, got it some time ago.
Not an album but the requiem of Faure is simply awesome.
Could have name dropped some obscure stuff but don't want and don't have the memory for.
I played many track from ummagumma & 1 track from Von in one my last mix. One track from "More" (still pink floyd) and the epic drum solo of sweet smoke - just a poke album too (made in 70's but sound like trance). Rest is electronic (not that much this time, I tried too keep an acoustic line on the mix), bird/whales songs and strange stuff lol.

I'm also drawn to melancholic albums, and I have to be careful about how much I listen to them. For example: Alison Krauss is my favorite artist, but the subjects of her songs are heavy, even if the music itself is upbeat. I've been trying to limit my exposure. I guess music just has that power.
