    Default Outlander series

My new candy, anybody following? If not, at least try to VI maybe? I think it's all about Se/Ni.

    Plot:
Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

    Trailer:

The season 2 is out as well but I don't want to spoil.

All the fun made videos are so cheesily mushy so I will stick to pictures:

    Claire:

    Jamie

Other characters are epic as well, will add them later.

It's actually not bad, sometimes cheesy, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes sexy. Watching it is very mesmerizing.

Well I'm only on episode three, so I can;t really sing the praises yet. The first few episodes were a little hokey, yet once the story line began its easy to be pulled into it. You don't have to think to deeply about things and the protagonists melodic narration helps to draw attention. The production is top notch and the characters are fairly well developed and realized by the actors. For a little while its alright to go somewhere else for a moment, where the world is more direct, and honest, and truer. For a TV show its not that bad.

As far as the sex goes, it actually caught me off guard how classy yet forward the main character, Claire, can be when it comes to fulfilling her desires. This always has an element of love and to her acts so its interesting to watch (never expected her right proper british army intelligence officer husnabd to go down on her in a dirty castle dungeon in the first episode). Her character is somewhat similar to Dexter, with similar over narration and astute observations of her world, so I think there are several clues to be pulled from there.

I don't know, its okay so far.

Just listen to this opening theme song, its very rich, and cheesy, but never overtly self-conciously. Just suspend disbelief.

I'll write about the themes and socionics some other time.

I think Frank is introverted intuitive, not sure which tho as the character is not that well developed.

Jack Randall is probably LSI too... An insane borderline sadistic one. The other option is LSE.

    Your thoughts?

Its funny you say that because I also envisioned him as Claire's identical.

I see Frank the husband and Jack Randall as the same person perhaps. Just different spectrums of the same personality. This might be why Claire is both fascinated and repulsed by him. I think seeing Jack has given Claire some insight into the demons that haunt her husband as he committed some atrocities during the war that she could never have a glimpse into knowing or understanding (because he was no the sort of man to share).

Anyway, love the show, am just past half way and it keeps getting better and better. Claire is an awesome character and her developing "push/pull" relationship with Jamie is very interesting not to mention realistic. Love their marriage, lots of *testing* one another for territory, short lived, but emotively intense "spats" followed by periods of kinship. Claire's ice shields are really melting by being needed and loved by Jaimie. He in turn becomes more outgoing and confident with her as his wife. He is definitely the victim in bed as well so cute. Beta rationals are awesome.

Have not seen, but I did read the books. Claire in the books is most likely ESFx, and definitely no introvert, so sounds like they changed her character a bit for the show. In the books she was notoriously easy to read as in her face showed exactly what she was thinking all the time, and she was very likely to blurt things out as well. Very easily talked to any and everyone. Not an introvert. The romance stuff was eh, a bit much and overdone, but the rest of the plot is very interesting, and the descriptions of medical procedures and uses for different plants and so on was cool and the history politics and war was also very interesting. If you have a very long drive or flight, or a lot of mindless work to do, get the unabridged audiobooks read by Davina Porter because they are very good imo. Each audiobook is 30+ hours long, some of the books 50+. I listened to, rather than read most of the books.

i watched all of season 1 ages back. but i fought against myself watching this. i did. i could never figure out if i wanted to watch it or not, so i watched it all. and i'm actually rather glad i did. i do not want to give into any romantic sentiments.

in fact, i'll want to watch season 2.

agree about XSI/EIE for main characters.

I think Claire seemed ESE in book. Don’t remember show well enough. Only watched one season. Jamie def ethical, too. He seemed mostly the same in book and movie. Claire’s character seemed different.

Love this show. I'm watching Men in Kilts atm which is presented by the actors who play Jamie and Dougal. I think they are SLE and ILE.

    Jamie is the dreamiest

I think the writer of the book is LIE and perhaps the director of the show is EIE..lots and lots of ni.

What more could I ask for? haha

I think she's extroverted and has strong Fe, so what you are seeing is Ti. I think she's ESE.

Yeah ESE. A brilliant artist. I can’t bring myself to read the books- maybe when I’m older. I think the style is not for me But the tv show includes a lot of language taken straight from the book. The plot and character development are outstanding. The way the show describes and presents the passing of time is spell-binding. You want to live a life of meaning and adventure like the characters, and make every moment matter, even if it’s just to learn from them. Not since Twin Peaks have I been so touched by a show. Twin Peaks is dark..but it similarly reminds you that you are lucky to have a life because there is so much sadness out there, and all you can do is try to make things better for people and share your luck with them.

I find it hilarious that there is a likeable but slightly evil character who is def supposed to be IEI- Geillis. She is so weird (in the show). Lol.
