Some people choose it specifically because it's so cold. If you know why it wouldn't be cold, please explain, but if not, less not reduce the coldness just to make it more attractive... to non-Gammas.

'Course, I know SEEs can be considered warm and is sometimes referred to as "cold" logic, so there could easily be a semantic problem here...

Implied - is there a specific quadra whose members you tend to get along with the best? Are you leaning towards an EP temperament (I believe during your brief visit to gamma you were typed as ESFp...)?

I would suppose your taste in music is a little too cool for gammas.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

yeah, perhaps that is the case. re: music taste as some indicator of gammaness, i believe that my music taste actually most closely matches reyn_til_runa's. so although that comment may have been made in jest i doubt it is accurate.

i don't actually get on poorly with gammas at all. i've just started to doubt gammaness recently.

@ calenwen - if i actually AM a gamma SF then i would feel that ISFj would be a closer fit than ESFp. IRL i'm not actually sure i know any. i seem to meet a lot of people. there's also the possibility that i'm mistyping some betas as gammas.

re: expatian definitions - i briefly recall a post here where he himself described gamma as possibly the least "human" and most "robotic" quadra (i apologize if i've messed up the wording, but this is just going from memory and not bothering to find the specific post.) mostly because of the lack and , being two things which can bring warmth and humanness to a quadra. i mean, i just doubt my dual is a robot. hah.

@ lokivanguard - i thought we got on well because we've both had the experience of the latin chancla.

I have seen this occur with alphas (more so the irrationals) with gammas. It's pretty funny, lol; gammas may be a bit too reserved for my taste at times, but I never find them "cold" in the way alphas do. That just feels odd and annoying.

I can see how is robotic, but I can't see how is robotic at all. It's one of the least robotic functions, actually, since personal relationships are so fuzzy.

I think it was in reference to how they appear externally (to alphas).

Perhaps looks "robotic" because types have high standards when it comes to evaluate other people...and many are usually below these standards.

My ESE husband's brother and SIL are gammas: SEE and ESI. I think my husband does feel like they are both somewhat standoffish or something. I don't feel it as much. I find my ESI brother-in-law to be hilarious and I get along well with my SEE sister-in-law. I think gammas probably do think they're warmer than they appear to some others.

I doubt music taste is a very reliable indicator of type.

well, i don't personally find any of the gammas here to be that cold. like you, diana, do not strike me as cold. neither does expat. i would not describe either of you as icy or cold. that's what i'm sort of confused about. but the way it sounds, when i read about it, i think "that can't possibly be me." although i am incredibly concerned with stable finances and all the various things that gammas are sort of stereotypically known for, i couldn't call it my primary focus in life either. then there is also confusion over who is gamma and who actually isn't, going from school to school within socionics is a bit of a source of confusion. what is one to say when one person types eminem as ESTj and everyone else says INFp? i would personally see him as the latter but i also know there are plenty here who think he exemplifies some sort of delta, which seems off to me.

@1981slater - it is really more like not feeling fully comfortable with one quadra. i think that i've mostly been described as having a Fi/Te focus.

this is hard to say as i currently think my father is SLE (and i guess you agree with that) and i find him to be a very honorable person. for many reasons but, socionically, for what i think would be related to type reasons. but then he's also my father. my LSE brother also would say the same of my father.

then expat would describe gammas as possibly having respect for beta for being able to take over in a crisis. lol. ftw.
