Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

You sure got ezra there scarlett *thumbsup*
He must realize that anybody telling another person to 'get a life' when they're both on an online message board is beyond hypocritical.
"Oh, you'd rather be pestered for photos. Pardon me."
I changed my response because I was considering whether or not it is something I wanted to say, as per the consequences. It seems a bout of quarreling with Ezra was inevitable, and yet, it is not. We both have a choice in the matter, as to how far it goes. In some other posts, I have acted in a retaliatory fashion, one that was pro-bickering.
Here, I considered not bickering, when I changed it from "get a life"; I wrote "get a life" originally because I thought b&d was going to be pestered into presenting pictures - when of course that is what someone chooses to do on their own. Then I consulted a few people about ethics, and changed what I wrote. Perhaps the best thing to have said, in retrospect, would have been "B&D will post pictures when he wants to", nothing more.

Thanks, UDP. Honestly, I'm just a little self-conscious. I don't feel totally comfortable yet doing that until I'm certain enough people really understand me. Or something. I don't wanna do something I'll regret later lol.
No, I don't have low self-esteem and think I'm ugly lol.
Maybe dove is someones next door neighbour and is on this forum to stalk him or her!
It would be weird if dove gave a picture in that case! whooeze hoo haa!
I will not aim for the head.
Ahh, well, you know them... those... damn feelings! You know, the ones that get so... easily hurt!
Yes, and someone who isn't comfortable with his self-image is insecure, and someone who is insecure has little to no confidence. Hence, my statement was perfectly valid.
And someone who has little to no confidence is insecure, and someone who is insecure is not comfortable with his self-image. And someone who is not comfortable with his self-image is insecure, and someone who is insecure has little to no confidence. Therewith and heretofore, you didn't read what I wrote properly. You're proving my point.
"Language is the Rubicon that divides man from beast."
Your statement was stupid because you were saying that a person who doesn't post their pictures is necessarily lacking in self-confidence. That's not the case, as there could be any number of reasons - most of which have nothing to do with the person's self-image. That's all I'm saying.
"Language is the Rubicon that divides man from beast."
He's explained why. He's uncomfortable. The only reason someone is uncomfortable with posting a picture of themselves is because they're insecure. I challenge you to come up with another reason.
1. he may feel freer to be 'himself' - who he really is inside - that he is his thoughts and feelings, not what he looks like
2. not feeling comfortable about revealing private information about himself to a bunch of relative strangers and possible weirdopaths
3. not wanting to take orders from the likes of Ezra
4. who is this Ezra guy, anyway?
5. why does Ezra want to see B&D's picture so much?

Thanks guys. I <3 when people defend me when I don't wanna do something.
Ezra, what's your problem man? Why do you want to see my picture so much?
No, I'm not 'revealing a weakness' for you to hunt. Stop trying to think you're this big bad predator guy.
Being uncomfortable doesn't always relate to low self-esteem, or being innately insecure, or having psychological hang-ups. I don't trust my gut intuition yet to show my picture, so I'm going to follow that.
Also: bad experiences. I think it's wise for everybody to only show your picture online in very private settings where people agree with you as much as possible.
How could I honestly be insecure? I already told very, very private things about myself, regarding my awkward adolescence mainly. An insecure person isn't honest about those things. An insecure person tries to cover them up. I get shy/sheepish sometimes, yes, but that is only natural.
I could say the same about you. Ezra, you are a pansy unless you show me a pic of you giving head to one of your 'mates.'
BINGO!Lol at your manipulation attempt. You could also say that a person who felt the need to present his image to others for approval mightn't be so comfortable with his self-image.
Face it, Ezra. You've lost this one. Surrender your flag.
No one has come up with a reason yet that isn't related to insecurity.
...And? How does that affect someone who is confident in themselves? Answer: it doesn't.
What kind of bullshit is that? Yeah, I think from now on I'm going to wear a box over me when I go into town because I'll feel freer if people don't see me.
Insecurities. Suspicion, paranoia, not trusting people, second guessing and doubting are all insecurities.2. not feeling comfortable about revealing private information about himself to a bunch of relative strangers and possible weirdopaths
3. not wanting to take orders from the likes of Ezra
4. who is this Ezra guy, anyway?

So you trust that B&D's self-perception is indubitable and unchangeable? How do you know that he knows exactly what it's related to?and ftr:
I don't give a shit about your picture. I'm trying to prove that the fact that you don't want to show it is because you're insecure. You're clearly not going to show it. So I'm getting you to admit that it's because you're insecure.
*yawn*Stop trying to think you're this big bad predator guy.
This shit is old.
Yes, and said gut instinct is irrational.Being uncomfortable doesn't always relate to low self-esteem, or being innately insecure, or having psychological hang-ups. I don't trust my gut intuition yet to show my picture, so I'm going to follow that.
This relates to what ifmd was saying. My response is relevant. Also: bad experiences. I think it's wise for everybody to only show your picture online in very private settings where people agree with you as much as possible.
Not necessarily. If you're looking for help from others, you're not going to hide it. If you're, as I think you may be, a 6w7, you'll look for external sources of help because without them you'll suffer. And who wants to suffer? How could I honestly be insecure? I already told very, very private things about myself, regarding my awkward adolescence mainly. An insecure person isn't honest about those things. An insecure person tries to cover them up. I get shy/sheepish sometimes, yes, but that is only natural.
Female? Of course. It's just a shame McNew is a moralist.I could say the same about you. Ezra, you are a pansy unless you show me a pic of you giving head to one of your 'mates.'
The reason I don't post photos is because I don't want people to feel insecure about their appearance.
I can't be bothered reading the replies, let's end the show here and now, you've won, I've lost, end of. It's petty and ridiculous.
