    Default Activity Friends

What are some good sites or apps for making activity friends?

Basically I have found some where the theme isn't about dating, just making activity friends. I have tried Meetup but I'm often uncomfortable if the group has been going on for a while and I'm a newbie. I would rather just start from scratch and find one on one interactions with an activity in mind. Like say find a fitness buddy and you arrange times to work out together and chat.

I want to make some more activity friends because the area I live in doesn't have much going for it. Not enough places to really meet people.

Most of these apps require you have at least 10 FB friends too and I don't really like to use FB, I have one under a fake name as a way of backing up my gaming data, and I only have two friends on there haha. I am afraid of stuff like that because I don't like people having access to my private stuff. Though to be fair I don't really post.

But yeah at this point I'm turned off by online dating but I wouldn't mind making activity friends. Someone who would ride bikes with me or something simple. I'm pretty low-key.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with certain apps where they found friends, not dates, to do activities with. Which ones worked well for you and did it accomplish your goal?

OK so I'm going to try Ingress. Though my area doesn't seem to have too many portal spots at the moment, although there is one near my house. I joined a community for it and everything. You can talk to people in Ingress and join groups. So I'm thinking the groups will branch out and maybe do other things too while wandering around portal hunting.
