Sociotype common platitudes
Most strike me as having either an INFp or Delta flavor to them. A few off the top of my head:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Confidence is key.
Hard work always pays off
What goes around comes around
Perception is reality
Where there's a will, there's a way
What doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger
Everything happens for a reason
There’s no I in Team
Time heals all wounds
Good things come to those who wait

As for the flavor, I like none of these. They are either black/white, are too vulnerable to context, simplifying things, are misquotes, or don't resemble their original meaning anymore due to prolonged use in time.
HOWEVER. I'd use all of them to crack a joke at the right moment in convo (perhaps even twisting it around) but I can't take them too seriously. As you say, platitudes. They're maybe good to describe something in brief but that's all. Or you can shut down a person who uses them with a better oneThe only thing I claim is the "confidence is key" line, that's a must as E3.

There. Some of them work in certain contexts, but then it's not a platitude, it's a quote, and you actually have to think about it.
This thread also reminds me of how a lot of "enlightened" suburbanites say "non-striving" to mean "don't do anything". The Taoist meaning is kind of cool, even though I'm not particularly into Taoism, but it doesn't mean what people use it to mean at all.

I am beyond sick of these phrases. They suck. You can say any of them in any situation when you have nothing original to contribute. These are half truths, with plenty of room for counter-arguments. People have been saying these same weak ass mottos for way too long. TBH, I catch myself saying these and then I think "Why did you just do that? That doesn't help anyone at all..."
I have my own set of phrases I use, mostly to set boundaries and say exactly what I mean without having to get into a long discussion.

I think most of them are true. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Dunno, maybe it takes purpose-seeking Ni DS meatlords to appreciate or see their validity. Fwiw though I hear these from Te leads the most often.
I feel like everyone gets exactly what they want
in the moral sense. freak occurrences happen of course, but in general people are responsible not from where they start but pretty much from then on what happens to them and it seems like they want it that way, whether they know it or not

Usually when I tell someone a platitude I hope the half-truth quality will be looked past since the whole truth often takes a while to spell out. For example, where there's a will, there's a way means: When you feel like giving up, put more effort into it.
sry I gotta be difficult and change every one of these to be more bnd-friendly. Feel free to agree/disagree but this is my pov.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; Somewhat but there is an objective standard of attraction or porn wouldn't be what it is. Just go to any mainstream porn site and you will find what most of us find beautiful. It can be bland/boring/too vanilla to some people but other beauty is in the minority or otherwise they'd have the guys/girls looking differently than what they actually are.
Confidence is key: no shit but sometimes somebody's confidence was taken away from them and to build it u need to show compassion and actually show them how to do it instead of 'just be more confident' like a narcissistic fuckwit.
Hard work always pays off: NO it doesn't. Hard work doesn't pay off at all, learning how to effectively manipulate other people does. So many ppl are working hard in dead end jobs that go no where while being exploited by a narcissist.

And sadly there are lots of people who are planning to do that this very moment, or something else similar.

This is pretty much what I said about context mattering.
The problem with this one is that they changed the tense. The point is that what doesn't kill you (present tense) makes you stronger (present tense) and it's a meeting of opposites, like squaring the circle, lead to gold, Heaven and Earth, etc. By changing it to will, they're putting their strength somewhere in the future and denying the present moment, which is pretty much the antithesis of what this is supposed to mean. When I said that parroting is not understanding, this is the kind of thing I mean...

I don't know if these are accurately representative of the ILI sociotype, or any function or subgroup, but they are my most treasured platitudes that I've come up with -- of course, I have no claim of originality, quite the opposite.
I had very different but equally boring favourites two years ago -- a lot has changed since, and a lot didn't, and a lot of them are the same.
I especially adore the first one.
I noticed the correlation also with the "eye of the beholder"
