if you're not familiar with her, the way that she performs looks less "sweet" than she appears.

I thought she was entp but seeing these pics she looks like some IxFp.

she's amazing. my band has been performing a part of one of her songs. Her lyrics amaze me.

we perform the section from 5:53 to7:00(you should really listen to it!) as part of one of our songs(an 8 minute song!). Of course the music is entirely different but i love it.

I don't know her type. some alpha probably.

I agree that EII doesn't seem likely. I get a strong impression of a perceiving type from those pictures and videos, and specifically an IP type.

My first impression was of IEI, though. Her difficulty articulating her feelings, which she was talking about in that interview, seems like a more typically Ni-Ego sort of problem, rather than Si-Ego.

"But outside of making songs, I... It's hard for me to um, put my ideas together sometimes. Or maybe -- not my ideas... Ideas are okay, but feelings are difficult for me to articulate, outside of songs."

I wouldn't rule SEI out entirely at this point, but based on the evidence in this thread, I'm rather leaning toward IEI.

Hmm, you put people places just like korpsey, like an excursion, a hike, so it's always something new, woofwoofl. I bet if you ever had to work in a cubicle, you would put mosquito netting around it and play a tape of jungle sounds all day.

All I can say is she seems remarkably infantile. In person (I stayed in the same small-town hotel as she once) she seemed very quiet/timid but (a) appeared carefully observant of what was happening around her even while kind of living in her own bubble, and (b) dressed in what could most fairly be called a borderline-strange costume even though she was alone, not in a place where she would likely be photographed, and had no obvious reason to be so fancified/fanciful.

    Like an insect repellent?

I mean, I would get one for those damn bees, wasps and hornets that seem to attack me, I don't kick their nests and hideouts in the ground just to check what's going to happen anymore, but they still have this collective consciousness like in Jung comic.

She can't even pronounce Nabokov correctly and she's doing an astoundingly shitty job attempting to sound smart.

Yer shitty lyrics aren't Nabokovian, Dolly. Here is the major difference: his prose make sense.

She seems high in that ^^ interview, but I guess that's just her typical manner?

P.S., Nabokov on the pronunciation of his name:

    Nabokov's interview. (05) TV-13 NY [1965]

Q: As with Gogol and even James Agйe, there is
occasionally confusion about the pronunciation of your last
name. How does one pronounce it correctly?

A: It is indeed a tricky name. It is often misspelt, because
the eye tends to regard the "a" of the first syllable as a
misprint and then tries to restore the symmetrical sequence by
triplicating the "o"-- filling up the row of circles, so to
speak, as in a game of crosses and naughts. No-bow-cough. How
ugly, how wrong. Every author whose name is fairly often
mentioned in periodicals develops a bird-watcher's or
caterpillar-picker's knack when scanning an article. But in my
case I always get caught by the word "nobody" when capitalized
at the beginning of a sentence. As to pronunciation, Frenchmen
of course say Nabokoff, with the accent on the last
syllable. Englishmen say Nabokov, accent on the first,
and Italians say Nabokov, accent in the middle, as Russians
also do. Na-bo-kov. A heavy open "o" as in
"Knickerbocker". My New England ear is not offended by the long
elegant middle "o" of Nabokov as delivered in American
academies. The awful "Na-bah-kov" is a despicable gutterism.
Well, you can make your choice now. Incidentallv, the first
name is pronounced Vladeemer-- rhyming with "redeemer"-- not
Vladimir rhyming with Faddimere (a place in England, I think).

And yeah, in the interview, the still shot alone brought Jennifer Love Hewitt to my mind as far as facial expressions go, and I got her @ IEE. Reminds me of @fenryrr lots too, especially in the profile pic @Maritsa Darmandzhyan posted, but fen's like more composed or something? Chalk it up to subtypes or something haha... I'm going with Ne-IEE...

I think Delta NF, probably IEE > EII.

“I’ve always been kind of a homebody, so touring is hard. I have band members who are awesome at it. They get up in the morning, they rent bikes, they go to museums. Meanwhile, I will be in my curtained-off crypt on the bus until 1:30 in the afternoon, when someone will slip a coffee cup through the curtain and be like, ‘Please get up. You need to get up or else you will be so sad.’ [laughs]”

“Newsom told me she was a “dreamy but melancholy” child, whose parents encouraged her ambitions and nurtured her iconoclasm. She doesn’t remember what drew her to the harp, but she started begging her parents for lessons at age 4 and began her studies a few years later. She also had a spiritual streak, which her parents likewise indulged. When she was 18, in the middle of her senior year of high school, she decided that she needed “some sort of ritual marker of the end of childhood.” Her plan was to camp in the open air for three days and nights, eating little, seeing no one, communing with the great outdoors. Newsom’s mother helped her daughter scout out a place by the Yuba, in the middle of 35 wild acres owned by family friends.”

“My basic creative assumptions tend to shift every few years in the wake of some levee-breaking accretion of new biases, longings, habits, preoccupations, mythologies, fears, superstitions, demystifications, heresies, tics, values, attachments, grudges, vices, diversions, avocations, sources of inspiration and of discouragement.”

“This is a very controversial position of mine, but I personally believe that every fiction that we gravitate towards, reading or writing, is some reflection or projection of our own lives and is our way of working through it. One of the reasons that, say, a novel is successful – in terms of the story being told – is often because it resonates with something that happened to us, an emotional truth.”

“This is a really big world, I think there’s room for just about everything, every idea you have.”

“I wanted the instrumentation to be all about verisimilitude, truth, the breath and blood of the harp. When I play, you know, it’s pressed to my chest and I can feel the vibrations all through my ribcage and collarbones; I wanted that sense of closeness and life to reverberate through the recording, too. The harp is so unique in its timbre... when you pluck a single note, for example, it sets off a chain reaction so that every single string vibrates at once, with varying intensities and volumes and for varying durations of time. [...] I thought extra instruments would detract from my primary goal in committing these songs to tape, which was to capture them framed in their true harmonic space, encircled by endless concentric bands of shifting sound...”
