Default Possible simpler names for symmetrical relationships.

Relationships are an under-talked thing here because they are complicated to understand, with names which don't tell us anything, as calling types "Analyst" or "Harmoniser".

Numbers here are numbers of corresponding functions. Only the symmetrical relationships are presented here.

    Same Quadra

    12 Identity
    21 Mirror
    56 Duality
    65 Activation

    Opposite Quadra

    34 Super-Ego : Quasi-Activation
    43 Conflicting : Quasi-Duality
    78 Contrary : Quasi-Mirror
    87 Quasi-Identity : Quasi-Identity

    Adjacent Quadra

    14 Comparative : Primary Semi-Identity
    32 Look-a-Like : Secondary Semi-Identity
    58 Semi-Duality : Primary Semi-Duality
    76 Illusionary : Secondary Semi-Duality

some "Semi-Activation" and "Semi-Mirroring" are done by Benefit and Supervision.

There certainly more logic in your descriptions.

But somehow I just like those original names.

I like the "quasi" versions, but the others are too long. Nice thinking.

It doesn't make sense. But the fault is not yours. I think it's a little stupid to say that INTp and INTj are "quasi identicals", having inverted functions (Ni/Te - Ne/Ti) and inverted order (NiTe - TiNe). They belong to opposite quadras and have opposite views and motivations.

Activation, for example, means that your hidden agenda is over stimulated. How can an ISFp be "quasi activator" of INTp if Fi is not stimulated?

Here the word which doesn't fit is "quasi".

But they are superficially similar. Hence "quasi".

The same applies for the others.

Although it's noble to rename the inter-type relations, I think the old names work better.

For one, calling the quasi-*insert relationship here* for the opposing quadra just doesn't make sense. It would be more appropriate to call super-ego relationships quasi-duality, because from what I have read of experiences from members on this forum, when encountering one's super-ego, both people in the relation will sometimes feel like they are seeing their dual with just a function introversion/extroversion switch, but there is always seems to be something wrong and confusing about the relationship. I don't think you're clarifying any information by changing to primary/secondary semi-duality/identity, although I do think that the names in that area could use some work.

the old names are already reasonably well established. to change them now would be to illicit unnecessary confusion, even if these names are more empirically derived.

I don't personally find those names simpler.

    Yeah.

That's what Augusta noticed first -- seemingly "identical" couples were either very happy or very unhappy, until she realized that the "identity" was superficial, so, say, an ENTp-ISFj couple would seem similar to an ENTj-ISFj couple, until one realizes that an ENTj may appear superficially similar to an ENTp, but they're actually very different.

If I'd change something, I'd change the name "quasi-identity" to "pseudo-identity" and leave the rest unchanged.

Default new way of labeling types

i think the quasi descriptions are much better. the others i find confustion. but the quasi descriptions really nail an unobscure a nrew level of awareness about the relationship.
