I like the way those Greek guitars sound...

My favorite for the day is in my sig but I'll post this because it's a good song...

    Cocaine Blues

(couldn't find the original by Johnny Cash... if I could it'd be that version)

/edit actually there's a bit of theme going with the Johnny Cash song and the GNR one in my sig. Don't know where that's coming from

    Valley of the Fallen Star

I gotta hand it to this kid - I thought he was going to blow it, but he did a pretty decent job.

http://bluelaguna.net/downloads/mp3s...allen+Star.mp3 (FF7 Version) - turn up the volume for the first few seconds - good drums.

that kid does do a much better job at the flute than I thought he would... I just wish his breathing when he's not playing wasn't so pronounced and obvious... it's distracting.

It seems like he was trying to be quiet, but then again, it sounds like his microphone system was limited. I really thought he was going to suck worse than the only other youtube search result for the title of that song. Makes me want to find my bamboo flute.

I've got a really nice wooden recorder but I'm not very good with it... even still it's really nice to go out somewhere where I won't be self consious (like on a hill out in the desert) and woodwind it up. very relaxing and peacefull instrument when it's not in the hands of gradeschoolers.

I'm listening to Keane's Walnut Tree as I wait for my friend to accept/decline my invitation to take her adventuring.

At the moment, one of my favourites (since I haven't really decided on a definite favourite) would have to be Within Temptation - Mother Earth:

..... music with guitars gets boring fast. Almost all popular, mainstream, easy to find music has guitars Electric guitars, rock drum set with high hats and symbols, or even worse, uber-simplistic drum machines.

That is why I find traditional/instrumental music preferable in general.

Greg Graffin - The Fault Line

The sun comes up with promise and my eyes burn open wide
And the sting compounds the torture from the vacant hole inside
My conscious recollection of the past events all seem
To verify the emotion that now envelops me
    Dogged as a drone
    Stagnant as the stone
    Weathered and alone
    Living on the fault line
There's no one here to listen, there's always room for more
They pretend to give you your say before they slam the door
There's very little patience, and very little love
There's just your constant puzzlement for what you're guilty of
    Dogged as a drone
    Stagnant as the stone
    Weathered and alone
    Living on the fault line
No one need deliver me from such a familiar place
I've come to terms and work in this ribald downtrodden state
It's subliminal friction under a kind veneer
And a form of cold injustice that keeps me stationed here
    Dogged as a drone
    Stagnant as the stone
    Weathered and alone
    Living on the fault line
    Living on the fault line
    Living on the fault line

    Let's see..

Kamelot - The Haunting (Somewhere in Time) - note that the first 4 seconds and the music after 5:30 are actually clips from other songs. The official video is for an edit of the song, which can be found here if you prefer - http://www.kamelot.com/video/th/thehaunting.ram.

Symphony X - Egypt - Personally I think the studio version is better than the live version, but oh well, the studio version doesn't appear to be on YT. The live version's still good IMO.

Epica - Façade of Reality - Apart from the speech from Tony Blair they put in the middle, which takes a bit of getting used to, this is a solid song IMO.

That's a small selection there.. I must admit I don't have a wide range of music that I listen to, but those are some that have standed the test of time for me.
