Default Differences between LIIs and LSIs (INTj vs. ISTj)

Ways to tell them apart? In what ways can they come across similar? Other thoughts?

Well, they both have the same Ti and Fe, so they will both be terrific at categorical thinking, and both are not confident with and will seek Fe, which I think of as "looking for someone whose emotions you can easily read on their face". (This is my own opinion of Fe, and is not canon.)

To differentiate them, you have to approach identifying them separately from their manifestations of the functions that they don't share. The LSI has Se and Ni, and the LII has Si and Ne.

Having Se and Ni means that the LSI is going to sense the real world better, will be more practical and realistic, and will be better at settling on one solution to any problem. The LII is going to have more of an interest in abstract thought and multiple possibilities, and is going to be very concerned with their own health and well-being.

In practical terms, the LSI will be direct and active, while the LII will be abstract and contemplative.
This difference is evidenced in their erotic attitudes. The LSI is an Aggressor, and the LII is an Infantile, or Care-Receiver. The LSI wants to act assertively on the world, and the LII wants someone to take care of them.
