    Default Matt Damon

I find him talented and versatile as he does well in both acting and screenwriting. Definitely overshadowed Leo DiCaprio in "The Departed" IMO. And he has a really nice smile. Anyway, I think he's LSE.

    Quotes

    - Success is not something I've wrapped my brain around. If people go to those movies, then yes, that's true, big-time success. If not, it's much ado about nothing.

-I'd love to be a dad. I hope I'd be great at it. That's every man's fear, yet his most important job.

-I found myself getting more publicly shy when the gala events and big crowds started. Some people embrace it. To me, it's not worth enough to risk my private life being public.

-Some people get into this business and they're so afraid to lose anything. They try to protect their position like clinging to a beachhead. These actors end up making really safe choices. I never wanted to go that route. If I go down, I'm going down swinging. I know that's the way Heath Ledger feels and Ben Affleck feels the same way, too. We want to take the big swings.

-I think it's still hard for me to turn down work if it's really good because for so many years I was so desperate to get a job and couldn't and so it's kind of an anathema for me to turn down work.

-I never wanted to do the same kind of movies over and over anyway, so my theory on it all is I'm just gonna try and dodge the label and keep doing what I am doing.

    Trivia

    - Dropped out of Harvard 12 credits short of graduating to pursue his acting career.

-Both he and Ben Affleck worked as extras on the film Field of Dreams (1989). At one point during the shoot, Matt hopped on down to Boston's Fenway Park to take some blades of grass as mementos for his father.

-During an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (1996), he announced that he and Minnie Driver broke up, even before telling her in person, just before the Oscars. Minnie found out on air.

Funny you said that he overshadowed DiCaprio. I thought the exact opposite. Di Caprio seemed to be much more natural. But we have to take into account that he played the stiff, achievement-oriented guy and DiCaprio played the cool, neurotic genius.

    LSE, IMO.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Perhaps I'm biased towards Matt Damon. And the character he portrayed in the movie is far more attractive (in terms of personality) than DiCaprio's.

On a side note, I feel that EXTxs (with the exception of ENTps) look alike based on photo V.I. alone.

Wow, thanks. I think leading logic is obvious. Who else can speak in such a dispassionate, grainy, monotone tone of voice? Plus, you can see his thought processes clicking away.

I can see cases for LSE and LSI. I'm curious about how other IEEs perceive him -- a somewhat threatening guy or someone you'd be likely to be friends with?

On V.I. I think LSI is more likely than LSE, and also that LSI is the most likely overall for Matt Damon. But I haven't checked any personal information, so I don't have a firm a opinion on his type.

i'm actually more inclined to believe LSI/SLE or some such thing. he does, however, sort of come off as an introvert.

After watching the interview by Charlie Rose, I can see how he could be an LSI. I guess it explains why I like him. I have always admired the way he presented himself.

    I don't see Se. Personally, I think he's INTp.

Rick - he strikes me as being a sweet guy. I certainly don't have a negative reaction to him.

Why not SLI? Everyone is mentioning ILI, SLE, LSE, LSI but no one says SLI? Based on these videos I would say SLI is pretty possible.

"- Dropped out of Harvard 12 credits short of graduating to pursue his acting career."

Irrational and a gambler? He seems sensory too. My vote goes for SLI even if I'm wrong It bugs me that no one sees SLI. Why ILI > SLI?

I'd agree with LSE before LSI.

Why S > N? I believe you, I just don't see anything in specific that strongly points either way.

@ XoX - why not SLI? he doesn't strike me as a type, he's too like, goofy. and i don't see any reason to think he has a polr or weak . my initial thoughts were something like: LSI, SLE, ILI, and mayyyybe LIE. he also reminds me a little of heathie, but i am so not ready to call heathie SLI.

Ewwww I think Matt Damon is very gross! He seems very full of himself and trying too hard.

I had a pervert professor last year who was always very obvious in checking out me and all the females in the classroom. He looked a lot like Matt Damon except gooier in the face. We called him "Peeping Thomas" lol. Fabio knows who I'm talking about lol.

I am certain that both him and Matt Damon are LSEs.

ENFp sister is obsessed with him, and that's like the only guy in Hollywood she even thinks is attractive. I'm guessing Delta ST is likely. Leaning towards ESTj.

That's because Damon's character's manipulative 3 techniques managed to pull your heartstrings. He was probably an LSE in that actually. DiCaprio's character was an all-out cp6w5. As an EII, his Se would be overwhelming for you.

He's an LSE in that. Maybe that's why people think he's an LSE in real life. Just like some people think Russell Crowe is an LSE in real life, just because in Gladiator Maximus is an LSE.

I agree. I think it has more to do with Se-type men being thought of as the most physically attractive in America, or something- or it just seems to be associated with masculine good looks more often than not. So we can mistype hot guys as being Se-types when that could be false. And he does have studly features, though I don't think that really necessarily means anything.

He doesn't really act like how he looks though, if that makes sense. To me anyway.

What about his butt buddy Ben Affleck though? I like Matt MUCH better than Ben.

I dont know much about him but i dont see the LSI. Hes a little goofy in the way he holds himself. I would have imagined this would be more typical of an ENTj or ESTj. I just never bought the Bourne Identity persona at all, something just wasn't right.. Good movies though. I did find his character in good will hunting very believable though.

Matt Damon is probablly one of the only actors i wouldn't be a little scared of in person i think. I vote LSE.

I don't know his type, but I think he's a horrible actor. I enjoyed the Bourne movies OK but only because his character wasn't supposed to emote much. He's like a block of fuckin' wood.

Good Will Hunting was the peak of his career, and his acting was adequate in it. Dogma was never meant to be serious, so he skated by. The Talented Mr. Ripley pissed me off and made me want 2 hours of my life back - almost as bad as Keanu Reeves in Dracula. The scene of GWH:2 in Jay & Silent Bob strike back didn't even have acting in it, and it was only tolerable because it was supposed to be satire in the first place.

The movie where he was the director of the CIA was another typecast because once again he was playing a person who was a block of wood.

Not cute, not funny, not talented. I find Ben Affleck to be almost as bad an actor, and even less appealing physically, but at least he's got an emotional repertoire.

I like Damon. I enjoyed most of his movies until The Good Shepherd came along, lol.

Why? I thought it was great.

The movie where he was the director of the CIA was another typecast because once again he was playing a person who was a block of wood.
    The Departed?

How did you like him in Rounders?

though there are reasons a LIE might be mistaken for the above, i agree Damon appears introverted in interview. he may appear more emotionally engaged than Ti ego, but that may work with a sensing subtype.

the Claire Danes relationship might seem problematic at first because she is IEE -- but until closer psychological distance, one may mistake a conflictor for its quasi (mistake them for one's dual.)
Even though I don't think he's LSI, he does remind me of Mark Wahlberg who is probably LSI. (but mostly from a physical aspect)

    lol. that video kills me.
i don't find him physically attractive, but I really like him as a person (from what I can tell). He seems like a really smart, nice guy, who isn't too full of himself to have fun.
I really think he's SLE, though I could see LSI, as well. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Haven't seen "The Good Shepard" (it looked boring as hell), but I REALLY like all of his movies. "The Departed" and the Bourne trilogy are soooo good.

It IS boring as hell! Especially if you have little or no interest(/knowledge) in politics and history, particularly in the beginnings of the Cold War era.
