    Default the socionics font

the one the Russians use... Socionic.TTF

Some are obvious and well known, some are a total mystery to me...

    1) duh
    2) fairly obvious = + or something along those lines
    3) Ok upside down and sideways element symbols... what's that about?
    4) ??? I've seen these used in Bukalov's articles on macrotypes I think. I have no clue what they mean or are used for.
    5) These are the four suits of the tarot. I know there's a group of Russians who correlated the 16 royals of the tarot deck to the 16 types...
    6) Same concept of above but different group who did about the same thing but with the standard deck of cards
    7) Probably used as symbols for the quadras I'd think
    8) Yin-Yangs... haven't come across this
    9) I think I've seen Bukaloc use these to show the flow of information within model A and between types. I'm not totally positive about that though, what they actually signify- that is.
    10) WTF?
    11) miscellanius greek and other stuff. no idea how they're used
    12) uhhh?

If anybody knows more about these please enlighten me with your wisdom. (Or just take some wild guesses if you don't )

This is the closest I could find to number 10.
    Each symbol means something:

    And the I_Ching

    Reminds me of binary numbers.

The symbols themselves are called trigrams.
Ba gua is a larger symbol into which they can be arranged.
I ching is a book about interpreting their arrangements.

Well, I have some information on what those symbols in number 10 mean.

Yang is represented by a straight line. The 2nd symbol in number 10.
    Yin, like the 1st symbol.
    (or trigrams)

It's pretty interesting that some trigrams are categorized into feeling/sensing/thinking.
Don't know if this is helpful. Hope it is.

Boukalov does mathematics work which has already demonstrated to him the existence of the crosstypes. He considers them "offshoot fractals" of the cosmic psyche... read some of his work and you'll get the idea.

Basically Boukalov has done what Jung thought impossible, which is make a concrete model of the psyche. (from what I can tell, at least)

The more esoteric symbols (you can deduce this from their descriptions) seem to represent crosstype characteristics. The upside down symbols may be representative of pathological functions.

Boukalov is way ahead of the pack. Along with a small cadre of other socionics professionals, he is... doing XXXx stuff I guess... or something close to it.

I could easily see him as being more than just ENTp, at any rate. For one thing he doesn't really VI as either of the two subtypes.

You can't demostrate the existence of something with mathematics. You can SUPPOSE its existance that has to be verified by observation.

10 looks like some sort of variation from the I-Ching, the book of changes.

The symbols at no.2 are used on the page below to denote 'intuition' and 'sensation' independent of orientation in extrovert/introvert as contrasted to the N and S in use by the MBTI system.

    http://www.socioniko.net/en/1.1.types/index-type.html

The picture shows that the dividing lines of the qualities according to MBTI and socionics do not necessarily coincide.

yup... I had that one already. But I'll give you a cookie if you figure out what's going on with no. 4. Maybe it signifies "fuzzy" sensing like when you've drank too much tequilla and you end up breaking your fist trying to punch out a streetlight for looking at you the wrong way

Boukalov has the tendency to believe his own PR. I've seen more than a few people on the Russian forums point out that half of the proofs that he refers to are little more than sketchy half-baked theories written out on napkins which he loves to vaguely cite but never seems able to physically produce. I'm sure he's smart and wonderfull and all but he's at least 1/3 snake oil salesman. The majority of his works which can be found and read tend to be more sales brochures and Jesus pamphlets in tone and substance than anything else.

No3 could be about 'abstracting' use of a function as opposed to the more conventional 'concretizing' use. Deconstructing the idea instead of advancing it.
