    Default Heroes

I've noticed something interesting about the show: each of the storylines has revolved around a specific quadra, more or less.

    Hiro Nakamura: INFp
    Ando Masahashi: ESTp
    Claire Bennet: ESFj
    Mr. Bennet: INTj
    Zach: ENTp/INTj?
    Mohinder Suresh: INFj
    Isaac Mendez: INFp
    Eden McCain: ISFp
    Dr. Suresh: INTp?
    Nathan Petrelli: ESFp
    Peter Petrelli: INTj
    Simone Deveaux: ESTp?
    Niki Sanders: ISFj
    Micah Sanders: INTp
    Matt Parkman: ISTp
    Audrey Hanson: ESTj
    Charlie: ENFj?
    Sylar: INTj

It makes me wonder when people really try to type fictional characters - as if the writer has an innate understanding of socionics and tries to make examples for us all to view.
Pre-2013 post are written with incomplete understanding.

    Yea. That's the hard part.
But they do roughly fit one of the 16types, sometimes even the relationships.

I am assuming that the characters have similar personalities to the actors that play them. Also, given that people have a good innate understanding of human nature, some principles of socionics are probably incorporated in the writing, even if unwittingly.

I think the better the writing, the more accurate to real life, and thus to socionics.

Nathan Petrelli is definitely some Se type. His main concern is to advance himself politically, no matter the cost. Extremely careful about his image. ISTj seems more likely (compared to ESFp) now that I think about it. (Though I haven't been watching the show for a while now.)

As for Peter, their conflict seems to be on an Se/Ne level, though I agree Peter seems on the surface like an Ni type. The actor seems INj > INp IRL too.

Well, watching Heroes till episode 18, I think he MIGHT not be an Se ego type. He seems to want to be able to use Se, but isn't that good.
Hmm. That's from what I see when Nicole was telling him to knock her out, and him not pulling the trigger at that lindenburg guy. Can't remember his name.
And Supervisor seems to fit. Yea, and I agree, Peter does seems like an Ni type. And Ip temperament seems right. Doesn't seems like a rational from his actions thus far.

Err, Eden was more of a guess. Not too much about her was revealed in the show, and she died.

is that any good show? I only caught the end of one before Doctor Who once (I think, scifi show right?)... seemed interresting but I've never put forth the effort to follow it. Is it worthy of a bittorrenting?

Yes it's good. I introduced it to a forum member, and he's hooked too! You should try watching it.

Err. Though I can't guarantee you'll enjoy it. But I did.

@ eunice: Search hard enough, and you can find it on the internet. Or you can download it fomr bit torrent sites. It's way better than survivor IMO.

@enjio: I dunno enjio. But an ISTp did comment that claire's pretty attractive. Maybe how she looks? portray herself? No idea.
But the way she portrays herself is pretty cool IMO. Let's not talk about how she's a fictional character and stuff, but what she is.
She is not afraid to be different, to be "unpopular", and she beats herself up when she's not so "perfect" and how she accepts people for who they are(Zach), how much she's willing to gain that friendship with him.
I can't confirm her type. It's just my opinion.

He MIGHT NOT be an ISTp. But... He's pretty nice. Don't you think? He's putting himself above others. He helped his client, even if he thought his client would think him mad. He put his own life at risk to save him. Put his own life at stake to save others. And to make sure that his family stays together. His wife especially. And she's pregnant.

Alpha NT seems the most likely at the moment.

He and Hayden Panettiere seem to have some caregiver-infantile interaction going on here.

I like the invisible man and Peter... And perhaps the cheerleader.

But I feel bad for Sylar. Despite him having wrong reasons for his actions, I feel that he needs someone there for him. Just as much as the other characters in the story.

Hiro is a character that is definitely charming IMO. He seems to look at the world with a a child's eye (in the beginning), he's every so giving, sacrificing, and doing things he feels that are right, following ideals that might not work 100%. Many people would love this "never dying", "persevering", "I'd do anything for the world" attitude and admire it.

Yeah, Claude (played by Christopher Eccleston no less) is an interesting character. I like Peter, but boy he's not too bright at times. And very nice description of Hiro!

My brother really likes Mr. Bennett, as he doesn't have any powers but he still manages to hold his own (also he had one of the best lines in season one -- Thompson: What am I thinking now, Parkman? HRG: Your last thought.) As small a part as he had, I also liked Charles Deveaux a lot, especially what he had to say in that flashback towards the end of the first season.

And as for Sylar, they say that those who are hardest to love need it the most. But, I think he's probably totally off his rocker by now. Hard to imagine him turning things around.

Now that we're caught up, I can post in this thread. I haven't really thought about the character's types much. A lot of them seem like they could be a lot of types though. Here's my list, without having looked at anyone else's yet:

    Claire Bennet: probably ESE
    Noah Bennet: ExTj? rational
Monica Dawson: EIE perhaps, seems EJ or SEE
    Simone Deveaux: don't know
    Elle Bishop: SLE
    Maya Herrera: EII?
Adam Monroe: at this point, I'm thinking SLI, but I could be easily persuaded into thinking he's another type once I see more of him
Ando Masahashi: introvert, perhaps intuitive... not sure
    Hiro Nakamura: Ne dominant
Matt Parkman: seems aristocratic for some reason, but I may just be biased because of his line of work... IEE maybe
    Nathan Petrelli: LSE? LIE? SEE?
Peter Petrelli: EII, or perhaps another IJ (not LSI though)
Micah Sanders: not sure, but I'm interested in his type... seems to have both strong Te and Fi? He seems really sure of himself, too
Niki Sanders: intuitive... IEI? (the only sensory type I could see her as is SEE, and that seems unlikely, but her mental illness makes her difficult to type) her son takes care of her more than she takes care of him, but that could be because he's just really perceptive
    D.L. Hawkins: Gamma SF
Mohinder Suresh: LII or EII? seems IJ
    Sylar/Gabriel Gray: LxI
    Charlie Andrews:alpha extrovert
    Bob Bishop: the token ILI?
Claude Christopher: haha he's cool, but I don't have a type suggestion
The Haitian: an introvert of sorts, probably rational
Daniel Linderman: I'm interested in this as well. Seems IJ
    Eden McCain: SEI
Maury Parkman: Si dominant, probably SLI
West Rosen: seems Ne? at least the actor does? I really don't know
    Dale Smither: LSE
    Zane Taylor: Ne or Si
    Molly Walker: Te? Fe? Se?
Candice Wilmer: the most annoying type ever
Charles Deveaux: I'd like to know
    Kaito Nakamura: LSI
Kimiko Nakamura: LIE, perhaps? seems rational
    Angela Petrelli: LIE, possibly EIE
    Chandra Suresh: Ne?

It seems I'm really indecisive on a lot of these character's types.

Nathan Petrelli seems ESTj to me. And Peter Petrelli seemed like an INFp or an ENFp. None of them has Se, but Hiro's best friend seems like a possible Ni type.

But I really liked the show.

Interesting that two others both saw Matt as an SLI. I don't disagree, but it hadn't occurred to me. I guess I'd have to see him without his ability. Interestingly, I could see him as either Delta irrational type.

For some reason, I think Claire is one of the most attractive actresses I've ever seen. And I generally think brunettes are more attractive.

Upon further consideration, I think Ando's probably an IP type... Ni dominant, probably? I'm rather confused about how he could be seen as a SLE.

    IEI works for Isaac Mendez.

Nathan and Peter may not be in the same quadra, but they're not conflictors. LIE and EII could work for Nathan and Peter, but I'm still undecided. The only thing that's certain is that Nathan's not Alpha, Peter's an introvert, and Nathan's an extrovert. And it's unlikely that Peter's Beta. I can't quite put a finger on their types though.

Somebody should take a stab at Linderman's type.

    IEI makes sense for Linderman.

    Claire Bennet: ESFj
Noah Bennet: EJ? alternative guess INTj?
    Monica Dawson: ESxj
    Elle Bishop: ESTp
    Adam Monroe: xSTx?
    Ando Masahashi: EP?
    Hiro Nakamura: ENFx?
    Matt Parkman: ISTp
    Nathan Petrelli: ESTj
    Peter Petrelli: INFj
Micah Sanders: I agree with Joy. The actor does a very good job at representing quite a few different functions. I'm guessing that irl this kid is probably pretty brilliant.
Niki Sanders: I'm guessing more an irrational feeler, seems more introverted regularly, then maybe ESTp for Jessica, don't know about that most recent personality
    D.L. Hawkins: ISTp?
    Mohinder Suresh: INxj
    Sylar/Gabriel Gray: INTj
    The Haitian: IJ, ISFj?
    Eden McCain: ISFp
Charles Deveaux: Maybe INFj? Not much to go on
    Kaito Nakamura: ISTj?
    Angela Petrelli: rational, extraverted, thinker?

The only ones I really have much of any confidence in are maybe Peter, Sylar, Mohinder. Very hard to tell on some of these people. Plus, I have a pretty high representation of rationals. That kind of makes me wonder about how I'm thinking my typings through (though admittedly these are mostly just feels).

Everyone seems to be in Beta to me except sylar (who is from the Ne-Si quadra). But that's probably just the overwhelming betaness of the program getting to me.

    But I still like it.
