I doubt that. We can always see what people think about it in a What's My Type thread?

I think the movie is Ni, and idealistic rebellion (as opposed to reformation) always makes me think more Fe/Ti, especially Beta. However, the focus of the movie, like the Tarentino flicks, is more on the relationships between individuals than the atmosphere or group interaction. As for the characters, my best guesses would be:

    Neo: LII
    Trinity: SLI
    Morpheus: ESI
    Smith: LSI

The super-ego between Morpheus and Neo, while not to be expected from their formal relationship, is suggested throughout the movie: Morpheus "believes" in Neo and the prophecy unwaveringly, even when Neo doubts it. Neo shows weak - "I'm not the One!" and Morpheus comes back with the various forms of "Yes you are" (seeing the reality of Neo's power in the matrix [Se] and refusing to believe that reality won't conform to the prophecy, and his beliefs will be wrong (insecure Ti, Ni HA).

This will be perhaps be controversial -- but the original Superman - Superman II duo as conceived by Richard Donner (not as it was eventually released) was Gamma, Donner himself said that the film's overall theme was the relationship between father and son.

The Krypton sequences are most clearly Gamma (Jor-El - ENTj, Lara - ISFj), the remainder of the film less clearly so, but it becomes more obvious if you watch the new "Richard Donner cut" of Superman II, with all the Brando (Jor-El) scenes that had been removed for the theatrical version (and which made a total mess of the plot).

I'm glad you brought this up; I just recently had a conversation in pm with Diana in which I noticed a similar pattern:

It's also about camaraderie (aristocracy or Fi) and the wavering relationships between Everett and his friends and family: this could be dynamic ethics (Fe), especially considering the lighthearted atmosphere of the movie. I'll go with Beta.

Spiderman2 -- ? Eh, superhero movies tend to be Gamma, because they usually have a lot to do with the superhero's relationships and moral judgments (Fi). Also, superhero *Should be "hero quest" instead of "superhero"* stories, like the Odyssey, (This was a slip-up :X usually have lots of elements of the "hero quest" concept. [/i]
So basically Superhero movies share the "hero quest" element with stories like the Odyssey, but in addition, Superhero movies are usually Fi>Fe because of the tendency for superhero movies to focus more heavily on the relationships of the hero with individuals, rather than a group of people interating with either an individual or another group; this would imply an Fe focus, as in V for Vendetta:

Harkening back to old heroes and holidays to spark a revolution - Beta for sure.
(And although I didn't mention it hereo, V for Vendetta also has some of the makings of a Hero Quest story, as does the Matrix)

Oh yeah. I had previously mentioned that The Odyssey - also its film versions, like the tv one with Armand Assante - is Gamma, and particularly in that version Odysseus is ENTj and Peneloppe is ISFj, clearly so.

By contrast, the X-Men is more Delta than Gamma.

It seems to me anything post-apocalyptic would have to be either Beta or Gamma. Like Waterworld, for instance.

Yep, I agree with this one. Seems very ESFp-INTp.

The rest of these films proposed - well, I'm either skeptical of everyone's assertions or else haven't seen the flicks (and that would be most of them). Honestly, I would think that many films do not have an outstanding affinity with a particular quadra unless there was something entirely unusual about them. And when they do, they probably don't go very mainstream in terms of popularity.

He's most definitely INTp ... But I like his movies a lot, and could relate to it in strange ways. I think in his first movie "Eraserhead", he displays a lot of awkwardness and perplexities with Fe emotions (Fe PoLR).

Dune - not necessarily the movie version - is Beta-Gamma I think.

    A Gamma comedy:

    - Daredevil

However, I would say that the "Daredevil" character is probably ISTp. But it doesn't change the overall (IMO) hardcore-Gamma plot of the movie.

It's also largely historical nonsense -- for instance, Wallace was a lowlander, not a highlander.

Still, as a movie, it's Gamma.

I used to love that movie. I've seen it at least half a dozen times.

    <3 Meg Ryan

Sometimes her characters are annoying or boring, but I really liked her character in that movie. I liked her a lot in French Kiss as well.

(I don't know if it's a Gamma movie or not. I haven't seen it in years. It does portray Fi vs. Fe issues though. Again, the story is about how her boyfriend leaves her and hooks up with a Fe woman.)
