Default strong Fi vs. valuing Fi

Fi types are good at building/understanding relationships. Te types consider understand/building relationships to be important and seeks this in others.

Fi types know what they like and dislike. Te types consider knowing what one likes and dislikes to be important and wants others to help them discover this of themselves.

Fi types have strong moral stances on issues. Te types consider one's moral stance to be important and wants others to help them decide on their moral stance on issues.

How would you differentiate Fe from Fi for these types of things?

And theoretically, yes, you have strong Fi. Your Fe is conscious though and is what you want others to appreciate in you (as opposed to Fi).

No, actually it isn't. In fact I've never had anyone compliment me on how good my is "Gee whiz, you're is so super-duper" and stuff. I do agree that my Fe is conscious but if I want others to appreciate anything it would be my intellectual abilities and by that I don't mean smarts and logic and all that sciency stuff but an open mind, critical thinking, intellectualism and that stuff.

    my error

(I swear that I saw, pre-summer, the quadra values were labeled as strong and the non quadra values were labeled as weak. It had explained why so many people agreed with the F1, F2, F6, F5 ordering of mbti stuff. Just cuz i swear i saw it doesn't necessarily mean it was labeled that way..hehe )

    lol it's all good

snegledmaca, I meant that your ideal partner will appreciate/value your Fe, which doesn't necessarily mean complimenting you on it... they'll show their appreciation through the natural dynamics of the relationship

Well that's not what you said

Your Fe is conscious though and is what you want others to appreciate in you (as opposed to Fi).

in fact one can't read that at all. But I guess you are right there, they will value my with them being my ideal partner and all. Hell if I fucked dead chickens they'd be ok with it .

This is one issue that keeps coming up --

For instance, my and aren't quadra values, they are subdued because I prefer and to them. Yet it doesn't bother me if I have to use them, nor does it bother me if others use it around me -- I just think they are going about it the wrong way. I can notice very well people who can't use or very well. So they're not "weak" in me, but of secondary importance.

That's a very good way of putting it.

I also find I am impatient with people who value these functions, both online and irl, but more so online (especially Ti because this place is like porn for Ti mental masturbation). In fact, irl I respect those who make wise use of Ti or Ne, though this is something I don't often see because my standards for what "wise use" is and their's do not often match up very well. I see no threat from Ne or Ti in others. Worst case scenario I find them boring and inefficient. I'd much rather be faced with someone's Ti or Ne than someone's Fe or Si (though I don't care when other people have strong Si or use Si if it doesn't affect me in any way... if they try to help me with Si I appreciate it but find it awkward at best, and if they expect strong Si from me I'm bothered).

Each function has its place in solving a given problem. Take a NeTi and a TeNi, and assign them a problem which has to be solved via Te means. Both types, given an equal level of skill, will perform the required activity utilizing Te; the same applies to Ne situations.

The functional preference deals with what we are attracted to; so, if both the NeTi and the TeNi are not being constrained by any other source forcing them to a precise path, they are going to be more likely to perform, respectively, NeTi activities and TeNi activities (if you wish, we can include the axis values - FeSi, and FiSe).

Of course, this has an impact to the situation that I have adressed in the first part of the post: it is more likely for a TeNi to have developed a better set of skills in Te matters than a NeTi, and vice versa for Ne.
