    I'm switching my vote: LSI>ESI.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

So? Beard, mustache, and intense eyes. Doesn't mean they are the same type.

Selanne looks a LOT like my LSI friend in this picture, especially the smile.

He also reminds me a bit of a combination between my buddy's dad (LSI) and my philo professor (ESI) from last semester.

Oh yes, he looks exactly like an LSI friend of mine. Actually, I knew this from the start, so fuck you from thinking about it even if I purposefully left out LSI from the list

I will, however, acquiesce at this point that Bale is a likely Se type (although I still somehow doubt SLE), and probably not EIE.

I never knew hockey players are so hot!

As for Teemu Selanne, I thought LSE is a possibility.

Lol. I never thought anyone would make a thread about him. I saw him playing when he was still in Finland (1990 or so). He was quite selfish and a bit soft player when younger. He also once turned down an offer to play in the national team once when he got a contract to NHL (which was a huge national insult). Then between 25-30 age he got less soft and less selfish and became a very inspiring and loved player who will never again turn down an offer to play in the national team. So quite a mental growth there. He also likes children a lot and has always been involved in helping sick children and has been a good family man before and after he became famous. Has been married to same woman for a veeeeery long time. He likes to eat (he is always in commercial involving unhealthy food and such) and in the past had a tendency to gain some weight despite being a hard working athlete. Nowadays he seems much more pro in his eating and practice etc. He loves cars and has zillion of them. He has been involved in some very careless accidents (rally practice accident, sinking of one big private boat, ...). He seems a bit carefree/careless.

About the type. He is probably S and F. I would say he is p but this is less sure. So xSFp is my guess. ISFp or ESFp. Not necessarily extrovert.

More pics to show more faces from him as I'm interested how he ends up being typed:

Additional info: He seems rather multi-talented because in addition to hockey and eating he is rather good in tennis and golf too and possibly could have become a pro in any of those. I think he also holds the notorious record of getting the most costly speeding ticket in Finnish history (when you drive fast enough your income starts to affect the ticket and with his speed and income it was quite a ticket...)

I think Alpha as a quadra is perhaps the best guess. And my ISFp brother-in-law likes him a lot. So not impossible. It would surprise me though I have been so sure he is F type I may have to retype some other F types to T types if you are right about this That would explain why he seems more extrovert than ISFps but less extrovert than ESFps

Weak argument I precog - but he also looks a lot like an ENTp-Ti guy I know. Well, 4 times more muscular than this guy, but hey

Although, I'd say that from his movements and stuff, he'd be typed as a sensoric.

edit: His wife looks ISFp to me.

But then, I've been off lately.

    To FDG:

Well the pic looks exactly like him...So I don't know. His wife seems introvert anyways. Perhaps it is more likely that he is extrovert in the end. You caught me totally of guard with the ENTp anyways. I never thought he could be NT but now I'm thinking it is a possibility. I once thought ESFj but he seemed too selfish when young. He is now a very different kind of player imho. Much more complete. I could see him being friends with an ESFj though.

The thing is that the whole "club" stuff where NTs are placed as intellectuals and therefore they should just sit down and discuss boring crap as opposed to go out and have fun playing sports...you know, it's very stupid imho.

Hockey is the quintessential Ne sport also (judging by the criteria which were listed on a paper that related sports to type)

I think hockey is an intuitive sport anyway - there's a great Wayne Gretzky quote: "I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been."

He also said something like, "A good hockey player plays where the puck is; a great hockey player plays where the puck will be."

I've been trying to acces it but the articles section of www.socioniko.net seems not to be working. When it will I'll give you da link, in any case it went something like:

Ne - everything with high reaction time required
Se - everything with force required
Ti - everything where precision is required
Ni - everything where "flow" is required (yoga, ballet)
Fi - everything where rythm is required
    Si - don't recall
    Te - running/football/etc
    Fe - don't recall

This made for example ENFps the best dancers/acrobats, ENTps the best at hockey, ESTps best weightlifters so on

I can see how N-functions play a role there. It is a very fast sport and being able to "see" the patterns forming in real time just before they happen makes the difference between good and great. But there is also a strong sensory component involved. I wouldn't try it with Se-PoLR

Youtube had this nice highlight reel which shows many sides of hockey From great scoring to great passing to great tackling to great saves. (I don't think they are the "most amazing hockey moments" as it claims but nice compilation anyways )

Ok more VI material of Selanne...first is a commercial for liquorice (I think that is the right word...) the second one is a short interview in English.

Here as a tribute to Selanne is first couple of goals from him, then in the second vid his signature celebration where he throws his glove and shoots it (which he doesn't really use anymore)

And here is a tribute to the next Gretzky The 19 year old Sidney "Sid The Kid" Crosby who is already one of the best if not best player in the world

Heh. I don't know. I saw that pic when I googled Selanne and I was like "is that him? noo...yes...noooooo he has US flag!" lol. I think it was in Winter Olympics site. They were both in the Olympics so perhaps the site keepers or google have messed something up

Another commercial where Selanne is in. He is teaching kids bad eating habbits again. His only line here say in English "This is my game. This is where I'm good at" while eating his candy, lol.

Hmmm...A Comparative dynamic duo? Or maybe Illusionaries?

(And yes, I know they don't play together any more, but still, they were damn good)

I think Kariya is the same type as Tom Brady of the New England Patriots:

ENFp for Brady, and maybe Kariya, although I can't rule out INFp for the latter.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

More material to identify Selanne. When he played in San Jose and Colorado he had big problems with Tony Granato who was a player and later a head coach. As a head coach he didn't give Selanne much playing time which almost killed his career. It was clearly for personal reasons. He didn't like Selanne's character on and of the ice. I'm not sure but I think Granato was more annoyed about Selanne than vice versa. Or perhaps Selanne just was more polite in public.

    So you can VI Granato:
