    Default The Breakfast Club (movie)

One of my favourite movies from the eighties...which isn't saying much!

From left to right: (plus my supposed typings):
Allison - 'The Recluse' - INFp
Bender - 'The Rebel' - ISTp
Brian - 'The Brain' - INTj?
Andy - 'The Athlete' - ESTp?
Claire - 'The Beauty' - ESFp?

Also, Mr. Vernon ('The Teacher' ) - probably ISTj

My fav characters are Allison and Bender, which is probably not surprising.

    ZOMG I guess I have a weird thing for ISTp's >_<

    Yay for this thread

I agree with all of um except Claire, I always thought ESFj *shrug*

And I actually think Brian could be an extrovert He's just a nerd...but he's pretty outspoken, friendly and kind.

Yeah, I though that Claire might have been ESFj but I went with my gut feeling...I though Brian might be a shy ESTj..but it might just be the actor or the script shining through. I used to have two ISTp friends at school - 'The Holy Trinity' , and one of them came out with outbursts like Bender. A lot of people could probably identify with him...he is the main character of the film after all, and against the teacher, his family, the world... .

I think Andy is ESTp with some regrets...ESTps can seem quite er...'non- ' at times - he could be T subtype, but it is only a movie - that would be taking it too far.

I'm most certain of Allison. Why? Because only an ISFP would discover the necessity of the crunch factor for a sandwich that could only perfectly be attained by adding captain crunch to the concoction!

all I remember of her was that it seemed like she tried too hard to be weird

When I was a kid I ate some really strange things... like potato chip sandwiches and brown n serve rolls with marshmallows in them and popcorn with grape jelly and... you get the idea

I would eat seemingly weird things too. But I wasn't crazy like some kids that would pour a bunch of condiments and salt on something and taste it and go EEECKKA! and throw it away. My weird food experiments really had a tactic behind them for enhanced taste or texture. And I actually used captain crunch for a lot of them because I really liked the texture and crunch which suppplied a little better crunch than chips, and it had a better aftertaste with sprite.

I always thought Bender was ESTp and the weird girl as INTp.
I have to watch this movie about once a month between Daniel and my sister, both of whom can recite it word for word.
The tell tell sign as Bender as ESTp for me was his line "sweets, you couldn't ignore me if you tried" (Daniel's favorite line)

    Andy ESXx
    Brian: INTx

I use to eat jelly and ketchup...do I get any points for weirdness? I actually pretended to do this as a joke for my birthday, and a ISFx? girl actually tried it and ate it- she actually liked it!

Andy shows strong Se and Fi, and I think the Fi is actually leading but he pulls out the Se strong on Bender.

Allison - 'The Recluse' - ISFp sensory
Bender - 'The Rebel' - ISTp logical
Brian - 'The Brain' - ENTj intuitive(this guy is OBVIOUSLY an extrovert! come on!)
Andy - 'The Athlete' - ESFp ethical
Claire - 'The Beauty' - ENFj ethical
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

    Default The Breakfast Club

Yes, I only *just* watched this movie, LOVED it, as I noticed most INFps do (teehee) and... what are they types of the characters?

I think Bender is an ESTp, fosho! Me and another INFp are obsessed with him after seeing his character.

Brain is probably an INTj, it seems. The rest: I don't know.

    My guesses:

    Andy (the "Athlete"): ENTj
    Brian (the "Brain"): INTj
    Bender (the "Criminal"): ESTp
    Claire (the "Princess"): ISFj
    Allison (the "basket case"): INTp
    Principal Richard Vernon: ESTj
Carl the Janitor (Brian's dad): ISTp

I'd say Andy was a Thinker... EXXj... Victim.

Claire was obviously a Fi dominant, as was Brian being INTj.

Allison was my favorite... hahaha that girl was hilarious. She was too weird to care about anything... stereotypical female INTp.

Andy is my favorite! He reminded me of a guy I have liked in school. Andy seems to have a role, based on the reasons he gave for been sent to detention. I find it hard to visualize a dominant doing what he had committed.

I wouldn't say that an Fi dominant couldn't do that kind of thing, especially one with Se creative, but I see your reason for Fe role.

How can you tell the difference between an ENTj and an ESTj? One of the reason I said that is because I knew an ENTj guy from school that sort of reminded of him, and he was good friends with an INTp, and they always messed around with each other. Plus I thought he was having a mirror relationship with Allison (INTp).

    Allison (the "basket case"): INTp
    Very possible. Also IEI.
Yeah, it's possible that she's INFp, and she's kind of like one, but I think she's a pretty stereotypical INTp (like Daria). Also the mirror relationship with Andy.

    Principal Richard Vernon: ESTj
No chance. Overflowing with Se. SLE.
You're not saying that he's Delta? Or EXXj? Pretty stereotypical ESTj principal imo.

Carl the Janitor (Brian's dad): ISTp
    Yeah.

That was destined not to last long. She just pepped herself up generically so that he would be satisfied. Even conflictors can do that.

Read about Ni and Si, and you'll be able to see the difference.

Yeah, it's possible that she's INFp, and she's kind of like one, but I think she's a pretty stereotypical INTp (like Daria). Also the mirror relationship with Andy.
As I said, I'd hardly call it a relationship.

No, I meant it more like an interaction, not like, a "relationship".

No... but does that make him an ESTp?
