I tend to think they are those that have Fi. I know an INFj and an INFp..but the INFps were more.... into leather than goth .... proper..

As I already mentioned in one older thread, I think that goths would be gamma/delta. Not necessary a particular type.

I tend to think that pretty much any type can be goth. Goth is just one of many childhood stages that one can choose in order to belong to group and have an identity. Like any one of the other stages or group identities, the person grows out of it after awhile and moves on with their life.

There are some people who never move on, and they remain trapped in an identity that's not necessarily one of their own making, but I don't really see this as healthy.

Anyone who wants to hide behind black clothes and black eyeliner, indulge and hide in the shadows, be black to be invistible but at the same time strong and secure and threatening. I was goth for Halloween and it felt goooood.

xNFp and ENFj are the most likely type to be goth.

well, not really. an ESTj for example would not be a likely candidate for a goth.

Yeah, personally I do think saying that the person is "goth" is actually a pretty detailed description. I mean, when I say that, I'm sure most of you get a pretty good picture of the person already.

I was thinking that infp would be likely, no?

INFp is one of the types that would be most readily considered. however, other reasonable types could include ISFp, ENFj, INTp, and perhaps INFj. basically just saying goth doesn't impart any meaningful information.

lol Well, the only ESTj I know is my dad and thinking back, when he was a teenager his group identity was "fringe society" or hippies. Goth could be, or at least the Goth I'm thinking of, before it commercialized, a "fringe society". At least that was one of the "goals", if you could call it that, for it as an identity to begin with.
So, yes I could see it happening. They might be a young confused teen but I could still see it.

Used to be fake pseudo-goth (the kind to wear black and enthusiastically cheer people up).

I'd say ISTp is the classic goth.
    EIE, ENFj, intuitive subtype.

For everyone's amusement a picture of me in my youth during the time when everyone called me "goth" and "witch", though I always kind of thought of it as more of a lolita-ish style.

    ZAP!

I never did the heavy make-up (blech) my skin is pale enough naturally.

lol, I'd never have the time to put that much effort into my look now.

An ENFP might be Goth for five minutes but its really too dark and down to be like that for long. Id go with INTP or INFP for sure. I seldom see INFJs willing to go that far. INTJs are not that costumey. I can see an ENFJ and even ESTP being Goth as well. Im going to say Goth is Beta for the most part.

    IPs and Betas, mostly.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I think that the picture that an individual has about "goths" differs from person to person.

Ew...I can't see any of the ENTps I know as goths. The ones I know are almost exclusively IPs, with the exception of an ENFj and ESTp.

Beta NF mixed with 4w5 as Enneagram and Sx or So as dom instinct, all this together would form the perfect Gothic
