Yeah, I know the site also and think its a bit strange that nearly the half of their celebreties are ENTPs. So are the authors fans of this type or can they recoginze ENTPs more easily than other types ?

Well, the head-honcho is an ISTJ, so I don't know if that means he loves or hates ENTPs. But have you ever thought that maybe ENTPs are more likely to make it in the headlines?

BrainTypes isn't ONLY body movements. Body movements is just another way to determine your type. This is not what BrainTypes is all about, but it's another layer on top of those "core beliefs". I know BrainTypes also doesn't like MBTI in that it is about how you act. They like to go deeper like the way socionics goes deeper.

Brain Types is how your brain is wired.
If that's the case then how can he mistype. He self-admittedly has been wrong at times. And even a few celebrities who have been tested had results that didn't line up with what he said.

So I think that he is seeing something, but not necessarily "type".

Funny how 95% of the list is extraverted and there are no INFjs, INTps, ISFjs, or ESFjs.

I heard somewhere that he was right 99% of the time. As for the brain part, most of the people he types from afar, he doesn't test their brains. He uses everything from the way people look, they talk and their body movements to type people, but he doesn't hook them all up to a machine.

    Einstein Fired!
Do you recall Albert Einstein having been fired? Well, he did have his critics, and many thought he was nuts at times. As a boy, some even regarded him as retarded (even among his own family!). Yet this Einstein turned out to be considered by many as the greatest thinker of the past few centuries.

Not only is BTI saddened that Einstein’s critics didn’t understand him or his Brain Type (BT), we’re also saddened that a modern day Einstein was just fired this week. Possessing the most brilliant BT (regarding conceptual logic), Tyrone Willingham, head football coach at Notre Dame, was asked to look for employment elsewhere. When Willingham was hired by the Fighting Irish 3 years ago, BTI wrote an article for this site notifying the public of his cerebral uniqueness—particularly in the coaching industry. Not only did we not know of any other BCIR – INTP in college or pro coaching at the time, we have yet to find another.

Einstein brains are best suited off the field rather than on—physically and mentally. Their conceptual rather than spatial, tangible, here-and-now logic is not as adept at tactical, logistical moves. All 4 conceptual thinking BTs (the NTs or CIs) are better in long-term strategies than short-term tactics. Despite this, however, Willingham and his coaching staff (including many different BTs) appeared—overall—competent in their coaching efforts.

What BTI liked most about coach Willingham was that he appeared a man of great principle (like other BCIRs) and integrity. He must have been a character-building model to his players like few other coaches ever have displayed. The way he handled himself on the sidelines and at press conferences was outstanding. In fact, try to hear his last press interview on TV or radio today—Thursday. It is taped from yesterday’s media appearance.

BTI has never heard a more gracious, intelligent, and not passing-blame-to-the-school (which he could have) interview. If only all sports participants (coaches and players!) could carefully study how Tyrone Willingham handled himself this week. He is basically the antithesis of the modern sports movement. Whoever hires coach Willingham next will be getting a quality man, who also happens to be gifted between the ears like few others.

That is INTj under socionics (reverse the last letter for introverts, remember?) and socionics types him as ENTp instead.

What is this amatuer hour? stup posting this crap. You will confuse people who come hear with a blank slate. People who could benefit from gaining a real understanding of socionics.

No, you don't always reverse the last letter, it's not a set-in-stone rule. The diffrences are more complicated than that. Also, this is not MBTI. You say socionics types him as ENTP, but who typed him? Where did you see that?

I want to get back on track with celebrities, so:

    Brad Pitt- ENTP
    Jerry Seinfeld- ENTJ
    Larry David- INTP
    Keanu Reeves- ENFP
    Woody Allen- INTP (maybe ENTP)
    Johnny Depp- ENTP
    Muhammad Ali- ISTP
    Thomas Edison- ISTJ
    Albert Einstein- INTP
    Kurt Cobain- INFP
    John Travolta- ENTP
    MAYBE I'LL BREAK DOWN!!!

    Pedro Martinez - ESTP
Seeing this one made me question my type .

    Britney Spears - ESFP
I could've sworn she was ISFP, but maybe she just seems like that because she's an ethical subtype?

    Roger Clemens - ISTP
I originally said ESTJ for him, but I can see how he can be an ISTP, too. They can be similar.

Other than that, I don't have any problems.

I don't trust that site. For one, It is MBTI. One reason they are often bad at typing is that they don't fully understand the types, none the less the subtypes. Please, go through the names on that site and you will see what I'm talking about. Britney Spears is an ESFP with an ethical subtype. The ethical subtypes don't come off as what you would typically think as ESFP. That's why people who ignore subtypes can get confused with the types.

And if you want to play the "she was typed .... here" game, then she was typed as an ESFP here by people who fully understand are hired to type celebrities/athletes.

    Van Hallen- INFp
    Elvis- ESFp
Bob Dylan- INTp (Rob Stoner told me, "You know, that guy just has something special upstairs")

Default CHALLENGE: How would you type these famous people?

I know some of them have been discussed; I'd be curious how people here would group them. If you have opinions about more than one of these people (especially the first few...or all of them) that would be most interesting...

    Dick Cheney
    Woody Allen
John Nash (as portrayed in "Beautiful Mind")
    George Orwell
JM Barrie (as portrayed in "Finding Neverland")
Alexander Borodin (Russian classical composer and chemist)
    Orsen Welles
    William F. Buckley (conservative commentator)
    C. S. Lewis
    Noam Chomsky

Woody Allen perfectly reflects my perception of an INTp.

Pretty much, I don't know why people consider him INTP. Actually, I think it's because most people think that in reality he's this really neurotic guy, but that's just the kind of characters he plays in movies, and he's supposed to be very different from that in person. I've heard that his real personality is so different from his movie personality that if he ever acted like himself in the movies it would be a huge turn off to his fans. Plus, this guy is just good at being goofy and making fun of himself.

well he was far far too active for one. always busy. he was sort of like beethoven in terms of having a prodigious amount of output in his early years. his perfectionism and temper also remind me of certain estjs.

Aren't some N types very active though, at least in the realm of ideas? I've known people who are clear ENTps that seem to be doing a lot of things.

By the way, what type do you think Beethoven was?

I've heard that his real personality is so different from his movie personality that if he ever acted like himself in the movies it would be a huge turn off to his fans. Plus, this guy is just good at being goofy and making fun of himself.
I thought he was gamma because his more serious movies always deal with family and society types. Also he has several movies themed about 'moving up in the world.' I associate that with beta/gamma generally. But his comedies do remind me of the alpha quadra. I think he's an INTP. God, i feel like a fanboy. I really like woody allen..

We need to stop thinking of the INTp as humorless.

I now who Stiglitz is, and I think he's anyway a ego type, very possible ENFp indeed. But perhaps even ISFj *shrugs* all I see in him is .

Orson Welles could well be ESTj, high on Negativism (which I am inclined to call Perfectionism) and with over-active hidden agenda.

I can't say I really relate to Woody Allen. I would say INTp as well..maybe with a strong feeling preference?

lol, Jonathan, you call these people famous?

John Nash seemed NT to me Possibly alpha NT. ENTp is a possibility. Either that or INTp.
