    Default Types & Fears

What's your type and what strong unusual fears do you have that are worse for you than average?

The decisive thing is not the reality of the object, but the reality of the subjective factor, i.e. the primordial images, which in their totality represent a psychic mirror-world. It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.

    Why does it scare you?

It scares me because I see less value in each part of the year because it feels faster than last time. When I was younger, I was able to really soak up each situation life gave me and form a strong impression around it and now I can't do that anymore. The world felt like a rich, aesthetically flavorful place where each day felt distinct even though I just lived in a small town in humid, tropical Florida. I tried to figure out what my favorite hour of the day was. Now each day feels like nothing and it will only get worse at a faster pace. Besides that, I feel tricked by the objective measurements of age and I feel like I have been rekt by not learning about that stuff earlier in life so I wouldn't have taken it for granted.

I used to have triskaidekaphobia. I got over it. Most fears I had were during a period of OCD which I had treated with CBT.

I do sleep with the lights on but it is a long story I am tired of telling. I don't like public speaking.

I think enneagram covers basic fears well. I don't think I have any pathological fear at this time. Will update if I get one.

Well, a few years ago my family and I were in the car driving back from the beach and there was a sort of lip-shaped object flying in front of the sunset. All of us saw it and my mom's ex took a picture of it.

Centipedes (hate them)! lol I scroll past that old movie quickly because I don't even want to see the centipede man or whatever it was called. Where I used to live they were common. I don't see them anymore but now there are palmetto bugs. *cringe* These things creep me out more than scare me but I get it.

They don't seem like they're part of the natural world. You could say that about a lot of bugs or underwater creatures that look weird I guess. But to me centipedes seem uniquely alien. They just don't belong here. They belong in hell.

    UFO doesn't necessarily mean extraterrestrials.

You've probably sighted the newest experimental top secret flying device from the US Air Force.

I straight up sit around thinking about these things sometimes to try to inoculate myself... but I don't think it's really possible to prepare.

Inner peace, tranquility, and acceptance may help, but I'm afraid I'm not living unless I think about death some of the time, and thinking about it makes you think about how one is never ready. I have had a few instances(non suicidal) when I thought I could die at that moment and be completely ok with it. It was fleeting, but peaceful. I will probably have more of these as I age.

Not thinking about it at all or thinking about it all the time would not be living imo, but the occassional contemplation is very living and very human.

Seems more like an UOE (unknown optical effect) than an UFO (unidentified flying object).

    - chronic sickness or other debilitating condition
    - insects
    - getting old (not something I can stop)
    - people judging me personally and talking behind my back
    - bad life choices or that I won't be able to fix them
    - fire (well, not every kind of course, but I don't want to get burnt)
    - people who use their knowledge about me to hurt me or take advantage of me (especially if they seem to know too much)
    - people who are too stupid for their own good and hurting themselves and other people because of their wrong and harmful beliefs
There's more of that but I don't want to think about it for now.

Powerlessness, everything else is connected. It's the fear at the heart of it all.
