Talking What kind of Fiction do you like?

I have been a big reader but generally I don't read fiction per se. I have read much that could be considered speculation.

When I have enjoyed fiction, it tends to be from Antoine De Saint Exupery, James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, and Douglas Adams. These are the only adult fiction writers who have ever managed to hold my attention so far. I am interested in their style of writing more than plot development. I would never want to read crime or horror novels. I enjoy young children's books very much.

    How about you?

Through which Sun of Being’s Light is passed,
Each tinted fragment sparkles with the Sun,
A thousand colors, but the Light is One.

    Romance/Fantasy, lol
    Historical
    Gothic

    YA & Adult

Add all those together and I’m in heaven.

The only kind I don’t really like is science fiction. Never really read western either. My grandma always listened to crime on audiobook driving around and I was never into it.

I also like Virginia Woolf, but I feel like reading her books is a chore. I prefer Daphne Du Maurier. She’s probably my favorite author. Shirley Jackson I like. I read a lot, too. Probably 85% of it is fiction and the other is memoirs.

Epic Fantasy (Got, WoT, etc) & Sci-Fi

Those are really the only book genres in general I can become engrossed in.

I like science fiction. I read a lot of it.

Here's one: Think Blue, Count Two, by Cordwainer Smith, IEI
