    Default Conscious vs Unconscious Function

How does one actually determine if a function is conscious or unconscious - particularly if the function in question is strong? Would a conscious function be one whose use you are fully aware of? Meaning that you manipulate it knowingly, whatever your level of mastery and creative potential may be?

I would like an articulate and concise explanation of the difference.

Wouldn't their reaction to your use of it depend on your ITR with them though?

OK. Hmm...this answers my question at least in part.

conscious and strong are linked traits for the functions, according to Jung
to call ID block as unconscious is incorrectly because of this. it's not valued so people do not like to think about it, but they do it ok where they think it's important

is a function strong valued (ego) is seen in the behavior - by dichotomies, sometimes directly - a human expresses them, thinks about those regions the most. which functions are strong nonvalued is understood after the understanding of ego functions

"conscious" functions are _more_ conscious and better fit to or above of social norms. it's relative, not absolute

more conscious function is more often in your consciousness. hence you better use it (consciously, in normal mind state), it's better trained, you know more about that region

more conscious function is better/stronger from the view point of your ego as it's better intergrated with it. the lesser conscious functions are worse controled, more archaic and childish, more wild

"The power comes in response to a need not a desire" is unconscious
