I went through this bad period when I listened to rock more than other genres (Metallica, Three days grace, Creed, japanese rock...) and wanted so bad to try drums but I only watched many videos of it, imagining myself in their place, it is kinda liberating to watch a drummer, cool instrument. Now I listen more to electronic or calm, peaceful music.
Are you really suggesting this? I know IEE who really likes rock and industrial. There isn't much in the type to suggest they wouldn't imho.
yeah I think IEEs can like rock, actually I think any type can, but I do have an IEE friend that would agree that "rock is too aggressive for her" so I can also see how one might think that. I have no opinion on this girl, only her luscious mane

Not implying that this is your personal opinion, but rock or metal do not necessarily have to be Se. It can also be e.g. Te. Take, for example the metal of a dude such as Joe Satriani, I mean, his records totally lack balls. They are so technically perfect, proficient and intricate, that one easily falls asleep to it.

Thats the point, art can manifests in all IEs depending also in the type of the artist. However, ppl start reacting when we speak about certain musical style but not when others talk about other forms of culture, which is funny if supposedly the point is defence against stereotypes. The same happens in other areas of life snd socionics, for example work or study fields.
Well, for my part i will say that Sergei Ganin has all of Metallica members typed as alpha. And i agree with him. As for the rest, I can only comment on threads i've seen and i havent' noticed anything about anime being typed as a specific quadra (i only comment on threads as i see them) Anyhoo.

edit: I think James from Metallica is SLI (with LSE as a second possibilty), I can't see Alpha NT at all for him, he seems to have the inner troubles of Delta ST.

There's nothing wrong assigning stereotypes to Socionics per se, because Socionics IS stereotypes. So if you want to say that rock or metal is Se or Japan is Beta, then you're free to do so. Whether that's anything relevant, consistent or coherent, is besides the point.
So what do we mean when we say Se is metal or SLEs are impulsive or whatever? Not much, other than to say that that's what it IS.
Does that mean that SLEs are ALWAYS impulsive? If you personally know an SLE who is always impulsive and like the thrills, does that mean there exist other SLEs who are exactly like that? (and why should they be the same or be acting in the same ways?) Should we say that SLEs love rock, metal and Japan? And what if they don't, would you just brush that aside as an anomaly or an irrelevancy? Do SLEs always love IEIs, and always get along with them? Do SLEs always get along with other Betas, and conflict with the other quadras?
We can't Socionically explain what it is to be an SLE or what it means to have Se, other than to simply describe what IS.
