    Default What's Your Hair Type?

I have Type 2b wavy hair. Brushed out it's 2a, scrunched up 2c. But always 2.

    The main types are:

    1) Straight
    2) Wavy
    3) Curly
    4) Kinky/Coily

Here are various charts. Keep in mind, celeb examples might be highly processed hair but the gist is clear. I didn't find examples for men but you can still participate, bet you've had it long enough to see at least once EDIT: I gave examples below.

    (4C is missing here)

A closer look to differentiate non-straight types (gay hair? ):

Maybe someone uses the Mizani Natural Hair key as well so I leave it here:

2C. I am curious, can anyone just wash their hair and let it air dry and be ready to go? Styling my hair is such a process. It takes about an hour to get it looking decent...leaving the curl in is not an option either. The front of my hair is stick straight but the back is super curly and looks really odd and frizzy. yay genetics.

Yes. That is what I always do. Or I put it up in a ponytail or something. I have kind of boring stick-straight hair, but it's easy to deal with.

Bonjour, bonjour. Wait a sec honey bun, I need to put on my coiffeur apron. Voilà! Welcome to Chae's Sparkling Rainbow Salon where everyone walks out looking their best. Okay. Ah, the case is clear Use a (silk) scarf wrapped around your head at night for that. Here is your treatment:

And don't forget to condition for moisturizing, that always reduces frizz Be careful with silicones, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and rubbing alcohol ingredients All natural cosmetics is good to indulge your hair just right For further questions, please consult me on Tuesdays or schedule an appointment. I am some combo of 2C and 3A. I brush before I wash it and then use my fingers to shape after conditioning. I only brush it out after washing if I am going to straighten it. Length is below my ribs atm (I cut off a few inches not long ago) and it is probably closer to fine texture but dense so if I don't use something to prevent frizz it will in humidity.

Some added info to specify your type further — low/high/normal hair porosity, it explains a lot about why your hair behaves the way it does.

At 4:15 is the test if you don't want the explanation. CurlyPenny always on point:

I have low porosity hair. Now I know why it takes forever to shampoo because it doesn't take up water easily, and I get product build-up. Warm water works better than cold one.

I've heard about Vokuhila but Vokahila is the upgraded semi-bald version? The more you know! I think it's fashionable because he pulls off the dichotomy of Bruce Willis and Khal Drogo without much effort. Very shiny head, nice! Hm... your face is much broader if I remember correctly, needs more horizontal than vertical styling like he has.

Yeah, and I can't just take a shower and let my hair air dry. It will take all day to dry. It is wavier if I let it air dry, but my hair always looks stick straight in the front. I think it got wavier in the back as I got older. But straightening it is really difficult, so I quit worrying and bothering abt it a long time ago. My hair also gets oily fast, like in a day, so I have to wash it every day.
Check the video above, that's because of a low porosity hair type. The moisture is kept out for long, and kept in for long. Be careful not to use sulfates in shampoo, they strip away the natural oils so the scalp over-produces and you have to rewash often. Straighteners are the enemy and must be fought If it's stick straight try scrunching while it's soaking wet with conditioner, that way the wave gets activated The straightener's heat might have made the wave give up on you since it's used to no moisture. I had the same issue until I tried, some people have mixed hair types but once you scrunch the truth comes out.

Gently^ Wavy hair especially can't take aggressive treatment, it's thinner.

Hmm. I don't think so. It's just a different perspective and my smartphone selfie cam has some optical distortion obviously.

These are good tips for Type 3:

    Summary:

No heat styling (cold air or water needs to close the hair cuticle!) — straightening curls is extremely damaging because it draws out moisture, messes with the curl pattern
    Microfiber/cotton shirt > a rough towel
A satin or silky pillowcase helps reduce friction at night
Much like putting your hair up, or tying it in a silky/satin scarf, also adds volume for the next day
    Don't rub, scrunch to encourage
Moisture is curly hair's best friend, so is conditioner
Air drying > diffusing (low setting) > blow drying
Sulfate-free shampoo to support sebum production of the scalp

Wavy hair has similar tips but generally the #1 issue there is weighing down the hair with product build up, so less is more

My real hair in a nutshell: Fine, thin, wavy, frizzy, and strawberry blonde. I hate that my right side goes inward, while the right side goes outward, which totally ruins any symmetrical layered haircut. I am growing it out LONG so the weight of it pulls the right side in more, and no more layers because that will show the lack of symmetry.

So many different types of hair, I'm shocked. If you look at it that way, I have type 2A hair, or it was like that, and I want to get it back with a hair transplant clinic https://maps.app.goo.gl/pB4jNPywKLTVhSrJ9 cause I feel very insecure about my hair falling out. It happened that way because I acquired it from my father's genetics. Honestly, it's not something I wanted to inherit. It's good that you can solve this problem at least nowadays, even though I know that I will need to take careful care of my hair afterward. But I'd rather take care of my hair than not have it haha

I generally go for a buzz so I don’t have to think about real life surface appearances.

For many though, hairstyle seems to show an air of uniqueness or flavor, a little bit of a window into interest or personality, or the typical service that you will see from that person.
