Ibrahim Tencer came up with a new way of defining the dichotomies from the information side, rather than the psyche's side. I don't know if you've ever looked into trying to define the intertype relationships with dichotomies, but there are some problems, like all duals share the same dichotomies in common, but a rational kindred pair and an irrational kindred pair share different dichotomies. Without going into the math, the picture of the sun wheel casting a rotated shadow is like how information projects onto the psyche. Both views are true, but they seem strange together.

The plane where the two tetrahedrons intersect can be created with the benefit and supervision rings, which is why the types are arranged with them on the chart. The supervision and benefit grids are interesting, but the real purpose of the chart is to show how Reinin dichotomies are out of phase with the Tencer dichotomies.

Here is another version of the grid with some more details. Especially notice how the blue and red background lines are out of phase.

With everything laid out like this, it is easy to see how everything works. You get the benefit and supervision cycles, the cycles of Jung's functions (intuition <-> feeling <-> sensation <-> thinking <->) , and the quadra cycles. The true shape of these relationship is a hyper torus, but I think it works very nicely as a 2D grid
