Default Here from another world! What's up?

I'm a newcomer from Reddit after the MBTI subreddit took a turn for the worst and I decided to try and clean my slate of Jungian information (read Chapter 10 a million times), and was interested in learning more about Socionics.

    What's a good starting point?

hello and welcome! it's nice to meet you!

wikisocion is a good place to start, i think. i would begin with background, and from there, functions. or you could browse the articles... maybe pin down your own type, if you haven't already?

    Thanks! You too!

Throughout reading Jung's descriptions of the functions, I've always felt that Ni was my lead. Even when I have my doubts, something comes up that is exactly what Ni is (or what I think it is) and I come back to it. I've been typed by somebody who was really into Socionics (cognitive styles, +/-, etc.) and he said my type was IEI and it made sense to me so I've stuck with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"cognitive styles, +/-" is not normal Socionics but later baseless hypotheses of some "authors". So that your somebody was really out of what is called Socionics as used external bs. The only hope is he used not only that bs to type you, but as average typing match is <30% there is significant chance you was typed wrongly.

You may create your typing theme to check your type

Yeah, they used a lot more than that. Usually people who are invested in Socionics like to play around with the lesser known, the 'newer' things like what I mentioned. I don't have a lot of time on my hands but when I do, I'll try to remember to make a video!

No reason. Just came to me, probably because that is so out of left-field for me + an ESFj with 5w4? I would love to see that

is this supposed to be the other way around? the LSI has more patience than the SLE-Ti ... if he has more patience to read the chapter than you do as LSI that wouldn't make him SLE

Right, the idea is that if he has more patience than me then he is a type that's more patient than mine hence SLE is excluded.

(I wasn't entirely serious there, especially because any type could have patience to read all that several times for some reason so it's just a heuristics at best.)

Some kinds of executions LSI will hold worse than SLE. Make more logical jumps in conversation, overload by facts and you'll notice how LSI boils a little sooner than SLE near.

Exert pressure on Fi PoLR of SLE and you'll notice how SLE will boil sooner than LSI

Btw personally I'm only bothered by logical jumps, facts are ok, I don't really get impatient about that. I'll either be able to place them in my understanding right away (if it's such) or I'll put them aside for the time being until they can be processed and placed. No real stress there though it can get boring if it's just some list of facts and no logic behind.
