    Default Da Vinci's Mona Lisa

Type her. I think she's EII. Da Vinci himself was LSE

here I'll put two pictures side by side notice my face and general calmness to Mona Lisa's expressionless face and also her forehead

This is a picture (close up) that I took for my bf but my smile is much less subdued than this

I've finally seen her 2 days ago. I expected something huge and glamorous. She was tiny and overwhelmed by 500 Asian people taking selfies with her. Dissapoint and want my 15 eur back.

I don't think it's her, but she is in her avatar. You can identify her by the subdued smile.

Is that why the Mona Lisa painting always really bored me? =D

Past life guys! <-- my subdued smile.

I have no clue on type for Mona. A lot of people look similar to me, in paintings, if the artist uses a particular style. I have had a few people do paintings, sketches... of me and they looked nothing like me, to me. I was wondering if they really see me that way or if they are just imbuing my image with their own subjective perception. Subt you have probably seen my lastfm image? That is supposed to be me. I just call it a caricature of me.

I think I like this version better even if the "authenticity" is disputed.

I don't think you can tell anything about the smile in a painting where the sitter had to sit still for hours (probably), and where the painting was painted by a master painter. Even in still photographs you get introverted people smiling broadly, and extroverts with a muted, closed expression. It can of course change completely with the occasion. Only rarely is it something that is a constant rule with a person.

In the case of this painting...which is reputedly of Lisa Gherardini, but there have been other suggestions...there is a legend that Lisa would not smile during the sittings, so her husband hired clowns, but this still did not change things, so models had to be hired to sit for the portrait. In addition, painters throughout history often did their portraits to match ideals of how nature should be (and to flatter their clients!). Leonardo is also famous for including aspects of his own image in portraits (other artists certainly did this, but he is especially famous for it), even in images of women. It has actually been suggested that the Mona Lisa is one of Leonardo's self-portraits, and the reason for the "enigmatic" smile is that she is hiding this secret.

The cartoon one? Yes, I remember that. I think it was a good likeness, although that is probably a view not just based on caricatured physical attributes (e.g. it may also be based on the style of the caricature, expressions, and the way the person hold them self etc.)

Yeah, that one. It was actually done using an a picture of me and he did a good job as far as caricatures go (I have never had a more flattering one). The artist is talented with his particular style. He did a few like that of me, some off memory.

Type that can be VI'd as having golden ratio. QED
    extrospection > introspection

Head type as in being truly head type and probably 7>5. Too divergent, scattered and expressive for typical 5 and that is the preferred way although long term focus usually helps.
