Question 40Q - looking for input

After a year of MBTI I have almost covered everything. But I can't identify my socionics type, and I would like some opinions on what my answers show here. You might recognize me from typeC because I posted this on two forums for more feedback.

    1. What is work in your opinion? Why do people go to work? Are there any parameters where you can distinguish whether you can do this work or not?
People go to work simply to earn money and live comfortably or happily. I would think qualifications are a measure of your capability, as well as realizing your talents and hobbies. Although workers are needed for the economy, as well as the norm in society to be employed, people would not have much to do in their lives without having an occupation. Even if I don't fully enjoy work, I feel fulfilled in my accomplishments afterwards

    2. How do people determine the quality of work? How do you determine such quality? How well you can determine the quality of any purchase, do you pay any attention to it?
A fair wage. The work has to have a balance between effort and pay. With purchases you can consider durability, cost of material, price, feedback, etc.

    3. There is a professional right next to you. You always see that you can't perform the way they do. Your feelings, thoughts and actions?
I don't feel any negative emotion, although it depends on what the activity is. I wouldn't ask for help or advice, but rather observe their methods, figure out why they are more skilled than I am - have they been doing this longer? are they older than me? More experienced? - and then I would aim to improve myself over time, or find my advantage.

    4. If you struggle to do something, what can you say about such a task? Tell us your next steps and give examples. Compare with actions of others in a similar situation.
I would admit I am bad at performing the task, and seek to learn how to improve if motivated to. The last example I can think of was when I was using a fabric machine in my art class. Everyone had difficulty with it, therefore it was nothing to worry about as I was in the general consensus. I didn't ask for help but tried to figure it out by myself. By doing this I actually discovered a new technique. Others may have asked for help but overall I can't think of how they were different from myself.

    5. You need to build a pyramid exactly like in Egypt. Your thoughts, feelings and actions?
What is the purpose of doing that? It would be useful to look at how they built them in ancient times, but also consider the new technology we have today. This would be a big task, and I would be wondering if I could do this without massive difficulty lol.

    1. General to specific, specific to general – what does it mean? Give examples.
General would be looking at the simplest logical frameworks, perhaps looking at the basics before going into depth. Specific seems like looking at something in particular then linking that to related facts. An example would be the myers briggs type indicator. That was an example of something general, gathered from highly specific data.

    2. What does "logical" mean? What is your understanding? Do you think that it correlates with the common view? Is it is easy for you to be logical?
Logic is fact, defining what something is. What data makes sense and what doesn't. I think the common view is to mistake logic with intelligence. Personality theory made me realize that logic not intelligence. Because intelligence really is one's ability to learn, not to naturally view a situation with logic. I would like to think it is easy for me to be logical, like most people probably. Strong emotions would probably sway me.

    3. What is hierarchy? Give examples of hierarchies. Do you need to follow it? Why or why not? Give example of hierarchy of systems, what is it?
Hierarchy in my understanding is a system of ranking. It's used in logic e.g. the food triangle and also in social authority e.g. A workplace because of course people naturally seem to develop a social hierarchy. This probably explains why I am obedient of the system, such as doing what a teacher tells you. I don't agree that parents or older people should be more respected than children/younger people. Hierarchy is used for efficiency, so you can understand the importance or power of the upper status.

    4. Choose one of the following tasks and give a detailed answer. Explain your choice.
How notions of “flatware” and “spoon” relate to each other?
If A is not B, and B is not C, therefore A is C. Is it correct? Why?
Choose one of the following terms and classify it: musical styles; means of transportation; taxes; fuel materials; animals.
What is classification? How does classification work? What is it needed for and where is it applied? Give example.
"The vegetable is not what is here shown. For a vegetable existed ten thousand years ago, therefore this here is not a vegetable"(Diogenes Laertius). Find logical fallacy.
This choice stood out for me, because I don't like defining things. I have not heard this being said, but my guess as to why the person has stated this is because people did not give the name to the object ten thousand years ago. We did not have intelligence to develop a language, and it is unlikely that the vocabulary is the same. I doubt plants were the same ten thousand years ago, as they evolve through genetic mutation and humans modify and select produce. This is supposed to be a fallacy though. In that case It doesn't make sense to defy the existence of something because forms of this existed a long time ago.

    5. Do you frequently feel the need to structure information? For what purpose? How do people usually do it? How do you do it?
Structure information?? Because we need to understand what is related so we structure it into a category? These questions are so hard. We do it so we can understand the principle of it. What more can be said?

    1. Can you press people? What methods do you use? If so, how does it happen?
Meaning to purposefully put someone under pressure? Perhaps in a situation where someone believes they cannot do something, or refuses to, I can convince them or persuade into trying it, so they can have more confidence. Being cruel to be kind is sometimes necessary, but I dislike the idea of pressuring somebody.

    2. Are there strategies of attack? Can you use them? When is it justified? Do you think it's ok to occupy someone else's territory? In what situations?
When I think of someone else's territory, all I can think of are the obvious; home, property, or place that belongs to them. It's not okay to occupy it unless they let you...Strategies of attack? what

    3. How do you protect yourself and your interests?
I don't care what anyone thinks of what my interests are.

    4. Describe your behavior in the situations of opposition and if you have to use some force?
Yes, you have to assert yourself. Showing weakness just allows a person to take advantage of you, to bully you. I believe George R R Martin's quote is relevant for this question :"Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used against you".

    5. Do others think of you as a strong person? Do you think you are a strong person?
Other people have said I am, when I was in high school. Maybe they were just saying that to make me feel better. I don't think I am a uniquely strong person.

    1. What is beauty? Do you change your opinion about beauty? Does your understanding correlate with the generally accepted notion? What goes beyond the generally accepted notion?
What is interesting is that everyone has a different sense of what is aesthetically appealing to them. I wonder why that is. I am guessing it relates to what they associate with the subject, the good memories and impressions. Even my tastes have changed as I got older. My fashion taste for example used to be tom boyish and Gothic, but now I don't like that at all. Of course my taste does not correlate with the majority. Except for a person's beauty. Everyone seems to find a slim figure, or a clear complexion more beautiful than the opposite. It is probably a ingrained from evolution of what a healthy appearance looks like. The beauty we associate with a persons facial features will vary from the generally accepted notion. We all have a different idea of who the most attractive celebrities are.

    2. Is there a template of understanding what beautiful means for everyone to use? Is there such a term as "classic beauty"? If so, what is it?
Classical beauty is probably changed slightly by each century. Think of Renaissance art. The women in those paintings (such as mona lisa) must have been considered beautiful in that time period, otherwise they would have changed her features. The best way to look at classical beauty is to look at the iconic celebrities of that time, because that is what influences the standard of beauty. Compare Marilyn Monroe to a person from today such as Kara Delevingne. Much more natural appearance, but small, symmetrical features all the same.

    3. How do you create your comfort and coziness? How do others evaluate your skill in doing so? Do you agree with them?
I would create comfort by providing things depending on the person. Warmth, a lit candle, food, drinks, and what ever else. It depends on the place. No one has ever evaluated my skill on doing this. Except I can think of one example. My grandmother is suffering from dementia and feels very uncomfortable in her new living situation at the moment. I remember that she always used to eat certain products, and insisted at my mom to buy those for her. Later my mom said she was very pleased.

    4. How do you pick your own clothes? Do you follow fashion? Why? Do you know how to select clothes for different types of figures?
I kind of follow fashion, but that is because I like the 60-80s trends being marketed at the moment. Selecting clothes for different figures - I learned watching...a certain show, how to chose different lengths of clothing based on your torso shape. Short jackets for those who don't have very long legs for example.

    5. Tell us how you'd design any room, house or an office. Do you do it yourself or trust someone else to do it? Why?
I would be confident in doing this myself. The thought of designing an office or a house is a dream come true for me. I know I can do it better than other people, because I can make my own unique design.

    1. Is it acceptable to express emotions in public? Give examples of inappropriate expression of emotions.
I am not aware of how I express my own emotions in public. I probably talk quite a lot without being aware of others. It would be inappropriate to show disappointment towards a business in a rude way, or to express anything that is too personal.

    2. Think of such negative emotional states as sadness, gloom, and despondence.
Can you, at your own will, enter these states? If not, then when do you feel them?

No one feels emotions at their own will. You cannot control emotions, because they are a part of your mechanisms. They are there to restore your well being. I feel those negative emotions when I haven't fulfilled my own wishes and desires for a long time.
How long can you stay in such states?
It depends on the extent of the emotions.
How can you withdraw from them?
No, unless you engage in an activity that makes you happy again.
    Can they be pleasant, soothing?
No, unless you were watching a movie that you relate to, then it is quite comforting. Yes I watch sad movies when I feel down.
How do you feel after you have experienced them?
I think to myself "wow, that was lame. Why were you so upset anyway?"

    3. How quickly can you change emotional state? To what side – positive or negative?
In between. It always seems to be that way. I become slightly more sad/happy but there is no massive difference.

    4. What emotional state is usual for you? Does your internal emotional state correlate with what you show externally?
Yes, I do not fake my emotions. Sometimes I try to hide them, but experience has proved that I can't do that very well.

    5. Tell us about your moods over the last day.
    They have been so-so.

    Fi

    1. Tell us how did you build relationships with others over the last day.
By talking to some. Sometimes I forget that I haven't spoken to someone in my family in a while, so I try to make an effort communicate.

    2. What is sympathy? When do you need to express it? When is it advised not to? How do you express it?
You need to express it when someone is clearly feeling a low self esteem or is upset. I don't always think their is anything wrong with fishing for a confidence boost once in a while, as long as it is around the right person, like a friend. Friends should be genuine towards eachother. You shouldn't when the person doesn't deserve it, it's simple. I express sympathy through say something that I can relate to with them, trying to find a positive aspect of the situation that will bring some light.

    3. Are there any standards of behavior or interpersonal relationships in the society? If so, do you adhere to them? Do people always have to maintain them? Why?
There are social norms and graces that some people tend to point out to me a lot; always pay for the guests' meal, handshakes, buying other people drinks. I wasn't aware of these things but maybe that is because I am not as social and experienced as they were. I want to appear respectful towards others so they can behave that way in return, but I want to feel obliged to agree to social norms when they don't make sense. It seems like following the crowd, which I disagree with in most circumstances.

    4. What does moral mean? What is immoral? How do you understand these terms and does your understanding correlate with the others? How can you evaluate the correctness of your own understanding?
I see morality as how an action or belief affects others, and the reasoning behind that. Some things that are considered moral e.g. Imprisonment are not technically the right thing to do, it just a necessary action. Crime punishment is moral on the behalf of others, not the individual being punished for their crime. Think of Dexter for example. I tend to agree with the idealism the characters have on the show. The act of Murder is never ethical. Unless it was done to save innocence. Everyone is somewhere on the radius between good and bad. No-one can always be good because they are overcome by the irrationality of their emotions or desires.

    5. Somebody is giving you a negative attitude – what is your reaction? Could you show your own negative attitude toward someone else? If so, how? Could you feel ill-disposed towards somebody for a long time? How easily do you forgive people?

I would feel a resentment towards them, wonder what the heck I did to deserve it (even if I did, actually). When I want to show a negative attitude towards someone else, I would give them the silent treatment and show bad gestures directed at them. I don't like having bad relationships with others so I might talk to them about another topic and see if they can say anything that will sway my feelings toward them. I forgive but never forget.

    1. Is there a meaning of life? In what? Is it the same for everybody?
I don't ever contemplate about this needless topic but when I think about outer space I do question the reason for existence. The Universe is infinite as far we know. Does that mean that outer space is endless? Does it stretch on and on? What is the point of all that? It's a strange concept for me, perhaps because life always ends for us. Life on earth is an infinite cycle-is that the same for outer space? This also makes me realize how minor our species really are. If you think there is a meaning to life, you probably think humans are more important than they actually are.

    2. When you meet a stranger, what can you say about them right away? How do you know what this person is all about? Does it take long to understand someone's traits?
I know people say it is wrong to judge at first impression but mine are usually accurate. The person proves to be the same when I first met them. They don't change or anything. When I first meet people I feel a strong vibe or like or dislike towards that person for reasons hard to explain. I think it based on how they make me feel. Solid Fi, right? The pattern goes like this: Nothing - Person is fake. Awkward - My ideals are very different from theirs. Happy - my values and ideals are likely the same as theirs.

    3. 'Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.' (Albert Einstein). What is the core of stupidity? Explain the reason for its infinity. How does thinking of a fool differ?
This relates to what I said earlier. Each of us individually think stupidity is someone who cannot see the truth that we subjectively see. People accuse each other constantly - You're not listening to me. You're stupid. You're dumb. It's infinite because people always disagree with each others values. It will never stop unfortunately. Misunderstanding is a huge problem. Ironically though, a "stupid" person is one who hasn't got the ability to think for themselves. It is arrogant stupidity when people think everyone is looking through the same lens as they are themselves.

    4. Truth, half-truth and lie: where is the borderline between these concepts? Are "pure" states possible, and how can collection of true facts turn into lies?
Uh...I have no idea how true can turn into a lie. Perhaps the external facts and data are changing. It is hard to say that something is the Truth. Truth is what we believe to be correct. It's a matter of fact. Half truth is what imagine would be a white lie. Perhaps it is looking at one angle only. A lie is the opposite of truth.

    5. Ideas do not have to be correct in order to be good. What's your attitude towards this statement?
An idea broadens perspective, therefore in some cases it can be good and world changing. It might not be a correct idea, but it may open doors to a better idea.

    Ni

    1. How people change? How do you feel about those changes? Can others see the changes?
People change all the time. I notice myself changing all the time. If I were to meet my younger self, we would probably get in a fight, lol. We get more mature and wise as we grow up. You can hardly expect someone younger to be wise, and if they do have wisdom that is worthy of respect. We always want something new to occupy ourselves with, some people more than others (but in contrast, the past ideals can be comforting too). Of course people don;t always change the way you would like them too, but it they are growing then accept that. Others can see changes just as much as I can. Unless they weren't familiarized with the subject.

    2. What is time? How do you feel time? Can you waste time?
I believe time is not wasted if you are enjoying yourself, but not firmly. I always seek self improvement in myself and others. That is important to me, therefore I can't waste time too much even if I am having fun. My time awareness is not bad. I don't relate to others when they exclaim that time flies, when it has just been a few days. Although I do sort of relate to when people say, "Wow, is it march already?".

    3. Do you need help creating forecasts and determining how something will end? Do you trust those forecasts?
I can be idealistic, so sometimes even I am not happy with the outcome even though I was expecting it. Forecasting is not something I am conscious of. Perhaps when I know someone so well, I know how they will react to something I say. But predicting an outcome seems strange for me. I am not aware that I do it in the first place, to evaluate how much I trust those forecasts.

    4. Are you normally late? How do you react if someone is late?
I am never late. Always structure my schedule well so I usually turn up to appointments ten minutes early. If someone is late then I will wonder if they have their shit together or not. Maybe they don't care if they're late. I do, but I wouldn't make someone feel guilty of being late.

    5. Tell us your thoughts on the topic of "Influence of fortune on my life."
What. Meaning has fortune proven itself to be true? You can't rely on that stuff.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion. The sky-god of thunder, sovereignty, organization and supremacy (king of gods). The Romans gave him more power than Zeus, in some areas, even though he was modeled after the Greek supreme deity. How aristocratic of them... I associate all that with logic and sensing. Did you choose your username based only on your interest in the universe or are you familiar with the mythology as well?

Te, Si, and Fi valuing.I don't see much if any Fe valuing. Decent but undervalued Ti. Ne, I can see some valuing but I wonder if you would get along better with an IEE or EII, going by the intertype relation theory. Those questions for Ni are a joke so I don't use that to evaluate Ni.

I would guess Delta, SLI or LSE from your answers but I just scanned your questionnaire (this particular one is not very revealing and the questions are too general) so I am not confident in my first impressions.

    Welcome to the forum.

I think your answers will prove useful in the future, but I think it would be far more productive and quicker for you to take some Socionics tests :

(you could perhaps post the results here: they should give you a good idea of which types to seriously consider)

I have the full suite on cd, somewhere. I used to listen to it on repeat. Wish I thought to post that.

That seems legit. I think I get along most with extroverts because they tend to initiate conversation. I have been good friends with introverts now and in the past but I think I am likely to befriend an extrovert. I was considering Delta already, with Gamma quadra as a second possibility. From SLI and LSE I am leaning towards SLI.
