You get obsessed and find yourself unable to stop signing into the forum.

    Read up on types
Ask people close to you what positive and negative traits you show. For example, you love people and want to give and help; negative would be you're disorganized.
    Keep a journal

    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

You put your whole self in
You take your whole self out
You put your whole self in
And you shake it all about
    You do the socionics
    And you turn yourself around
    That's what it's all about

uhm, you have to get obsessed yes, but being on the forum in the beginning can be more confusing than enlightening. Start typing people in real life, start with 4 dichotomies, build up a mental database of people you've typed, start seeing similarities, after that you start to notice quickly what type someone is, because he behaves like all the other people of a certain type you know.
