PoLR looking strong

Doesn't the PoLR look strong in some people? The 4th function is conscious, but one we have little control over. Some people overcompensate for their weak 4th function and take it to extremes. For example, if you meet someone who's just spewing Ti all over the place, it could be an ExFp who is going way overboard trying to be an intellectual... that kind of thing.

IXTps are notoriously emotionally unstable, so i suppose could look like a strong function.

I agree, for the most part. I don't think it's as obvious online though, or if you haven't been around that person long or have only been around that person in specific settings, such as one on one, etc.

I agree that the PoLR function can seem very strong. With my marvellous Si-PoLR it is particularly obvious when I'm in a Chinese restaurant with my family and 10 people sample a few different dishes... Everyone takes a bite and says, "mmm", I take a bite and people see me going all red, squinting my eyes with tears in my eyes and grasping for water. I wonder if some beginner socionics hobbyist would think, "wow, she's so ISFp!" (I know I can come off as ISFp, but I really don't think I am)

i think that you can tell that the use of the polr and the HA are uses of functions that are not strong. They are like, "wtf" uses of the function, in that they provoke that reaction from others who are naturally strong in it.

I have been trying for months now to pin it down exactly how one can tell one's HA is not a strong function, but i haven't succeeded yet. You can just tell.

EDIT: though, i've consulted Mcnew's descriptions and they are helpful.

like when an ISTp gets pissed because, let's say he's cooking eggs in a basket and one of the eggs falls on the floor (omg, industrial waste!) you'll get like a stream of cursewords, which makes him look like some crazy ESFj or something. if only for five minutes, then it goes away. momentarily he looks like a dominant. they're normally pretty stable so maybe i wasn't explaining myself well.
