I'm honestly a bit torn between ESTp and ESTj.

yes, ISTj is another very real possibility... in fact, that does seem more likely than ESTj, based on functions. I'm relatively unfamiliar with what ISTjs are like though.

I only know the scientist kind of ISTj. I don't know any non-academic ISTjs.

I think Benny is ESTj. I know that he seems to use Se, but I have to admit that he acts very similarly to one (only) almost certain ESTj that I know. Even his motivations seem similar to the way I imagined the ESTj thinks.

My father, who frowned upon my wish to go to graduate school, is probably ISTj.

Oh they exist alright! They are just like ESTJs except without the openmindedness and lavish imagination.

Funny, the ISTjs I know best (and yes assuming I typed them correctly etc) are:

    - lab technician (no university degree)
    - mechanical engineer in a manufacturing plant
    - quality assurance manager
    - purchaser
    - technical salesman of machinery
    - PhD mechanical engineer
    - PhD R&D chemist

IME ISTjs like highly technical fields but dislike being scientists in the sense of doing pure research; only one of those I typed as ISTj was doing that.

As for Benny's type, I very much doubt he's ENTj. ESTp or ISTj.

I move nearly constantly and I seem to never run out of energy in other peoples eyes. (I sometimes get tired when I'm really comfortable and spontaneously fall asleep .. and then wake up .. and am wide awake .. then spontaneously fall asleep again .. especially if I haven't been sleeping much)

I'm not very good with detials .. I couldn't handle most of those complicated jobs.

My way of dealing with details is to do things three times over - like .. if I want to make something precise I'll kind of go down then up then down ... throughi t .. first doing it forwards then backwards and checking it through then running it forwards again.

I go by the "feeling" of whether something is correct or not. Which means I can look at things - and suddenly will pop out any deviations...

I don't know what it is that's wrong, but I know that there is something.. and I can kind of localise it .. then take a deeper look.

But anything that involves lots of precision.. just gives me headaches.. and exposes my distaste for reading or staying still.. or repetition.

I prefer evolving problems .. and ones where mistakes will be inherently obvious .. and don't have to be self-checked ..

Also I can't really work very well without a lot of social stimulation to keep me upbeat.

So yeah, I think the ISTj .. is scary .. and evil .. and I want to kill 'em all.

    Thanks,
    Have a nice day.
    .
