Matt Berninger, Fi-EII, frontman of the band, The National; with Carin Besser, Te-LSE (definitely Te-Fi ), fiction editor

    I find their relationship heartwarming.

Here's an article written by Besser, where she refers to her husband:

Ever wonder what Delta Duality's like from an infantile's perspective? So ... you're this person who's intelligent and capable but often you come off as goofy and awkward; you get flack from people who are like, homg do you evennn, you're too dumb and soft for the real world. But hey, you try to do your thing, be responsible (even when you fail) but yeah, you're generally a nice person and you have a sense of humour, that's somewhat eccentric and you grow to appreciate it more and more as you age. You know that you have a strange kind of appeal but yeah, you don't appeal to a lot of people. And that's fine. But one day, you meet this awesome, amazing person who's grounded, serious and damn, they're so good at everything (it's like they don't even need a watch, half the time!). And you wanna impress: you hope that they'll like your sense of humour, they'll find your quirks endearing and they do. And whatever, other found repulsive, they find charming. And they're not put off by the ways you have trouble dealing with certain things (ugh, physical awkwardness, could you help me carry these groceries)- they're eager to help you out even when you don't ask. They're so touched that you appreciate everything that comes to them naturally. They want to be praised; and you want to bring them joy. So you're not great in many ways but hey you can make them laugh with your clever words. You can make them see the extraordinary in the mundane. And when you're scared that you don't enough for them, they tell you that you do more than you'll ever know; you're smarter than you know, better than you know.

This song captures the essence of Delta Duality; the infantile hero is nervous, especially now that's he around a crowd when he really wishes to be alone with her (low Si, valued Fi); he's someone who's very aware of his regrets but despite all his apprehensions (low Se), he's now ready to win over the object of affections. He might screw up his chances but hey ... he's gotta do it, right ? He wants a stable, domestic life with her; him ... and her. And you know he's been mocked for being a little dreamy in the past, but you wanna know something? He's always wanted someone like her; and now, she's here with him .

    lyrics below:

I made a mistake in my life today
Everything I love gets lost in drawers
I want to start over, I want to be winning
Way out of sync from the beginning

Looking for somewhere to stand and stay
I leaned on the wall and the wall leaned away
Can I get a minute of not being nervous
And not thinking of my dick?

My leg is sparkles, my leg is pins
I better get my shit together, better gather my shit in
You could drive a car through my head in five minutes
From one side of it to the other

I wanna hurry home to you
Put on a slow, dumb show for you and crack you up
So you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
God I'm very, very frightening, I'll overdo it

You know I dreamed about you
For 29 years before I saw you
You know I dreamed about you
I missed you for, for 29 years

Bridget Jones (Fi-IEE) and Mark Darcy (Te-SLI); you know what's an unexpectedly sweet thing in duality? Interplay between demonstratives (Fe and Ti) as well your dual's reaction to your polrs (I know many a ESE who'd be very pissed at Darcy's Fe polrish bluntness but Bridget, despite, not being warm to him in the beginning, tolerates it and handles it well; also, it's super cute that Darcy doesn't think less of her intelligence because of her Ti polr; he is very aware of her shortcomings but they don't make him like her any less <3 ) .

Why do you think we like our dual's polr so much? We know that they have a lot to offer emotionally ... and obviously sensually (nom Si sexuality is nommy) .

David Sedaris (Fi-IEE) and Hugh Hamrick (Te-SLI); so charming and heartwarming.

From the video, their infantile-caregiver dynamic is pretty obvious (see, David being all 'HOMG, HIS MAD FIXING SKILLZ YUSSS I WANT THAT MOAAAR THAN SEXXXEH VOICE' while Hugh laughs, 'like you're smart but so silly').

David's works where he refers to Hugh are <3 ; he speaks of how Hugh is very responsible and handy; he fixes things and is amazing at it whereas David is like, well if the toilet broke I'd probably use a bucket (lol, very Fi-IEE improvisor-ish). And David is very faithful to him; wants him warts and all.

This image strikes me as showing Delta duality.

His eyes concentrated and focused on the exterior object of interest, regarding it with logic of action. Hands stained with soil, used daily in a living effort for his craft. Her eyes diffused on the intangible connections, perhaps considering the relational implications of her life with this man and her position within the micro universe they are creating together. Where are you going, where have you been? Who am I with him? Who do I want to be? Do I need him? Does he need me?

The pragmatic reliance she has for him shows in the close lean. I do rely on you, she says with her body. His care for her is displayed by his acceptance of his position she leaves for him and shown by his cheek leaning on her forehead. I am here for you, but need you just as much as you need me. These two have lots to consider within their respective spheres of informational elements and metobalistic considerations. Several separate yet complimenting facets of reality. The point being they are doing it together. This could cover both rational and irrational dyads.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Delta Duality <3 ; pair may be irrational/rational dyad but I'm personally leaning towards Fi-IEE for the lady and Te-SLI for the guy ... could see a case for INFj/ESTj, too

Cameron Esposito, Fi-IEE (6w7 so/sp) with her spouse IRL too, Rhea Butcher, Si/Te-SLI (sp/so ) ; Rhea's Fe polr and lack of affectiveness is so damn cute. Also there's an amazingly cute scene at the end which will make you go d'awww; Fe polrs are adorable when they're showing their feelings <3 .

They look too stiff. The LII & ESE one is the only one resembling anything close to what I'd find attractive or pleasing.

Inabox, you seem to have a really good understanding of IEE and SLI (I think IEE is misunderstood or mistyped here on 16T sometimes). Your understanding makes me wonder - what type are you? IEE or SLI? Or do you just know one or both of these types well?

I particularly like what you wrote above in #82. Very well said! I did not watch the videos but I did tune in to a couple randoms part of the one in #93... I can see IEE as a possibility for Cameron, though I'm not sure without watching more. The Rhea character - I can really see SLI there. Like they way SLI can seem to be inactively staring, zoning out - they can appear to be being lazy. But you see later they weren't just zoning out or falling asleep - they were clearly thinking, and very thoroughly, which shows in their work, for example - every thing has been thought through most thoroughly and because of that when they start moving they go about things in a right order with no wasted movements.

In the early part of that video, Cameron is getting ready to get out the door, randomly doing many things, and (politely) registers her complaint about something she doesn't like - crusty dishes - yes, I do that, complain about what I do not like about this, that - in the same manner as she did, as I I am not mad or annoyed when I say it, I am just trusting I can tell my husband whatever is on my mind and he is fine with it. And the SLI-Rhea, after taking in the complaint and not invalidating it, calmly adds that she is the one who does the dishes, anyway. My SLI husband does dishes here, too. I was unhappy to find no automatic dishwasher in this house when I came here, as I like having dirty dishes out of the way immediately, and later putting away the magically sparkling dishes... and he said "I'll wash the dishes". And he does, and its nice. He takes care of a lot of everyday things while I am more like the specialist around here. Like I am chief cook, he is bottle washer (and sous chef)...

(inabox - I just checked your profile, I see you are self-typed IEE-Fi, and since you seem to really know what an IEE is like, I am going to add you to my "types I am sure about" list. )

Well - some ideas here. I have noticed that your Dual is not who people will set you up with, because you and your dual are so different, except on the rational/irrational. All those other traits you are so different on, and people automatically think, "no match there", and they will introduce you instead to someone more like you. Someone more introverted, thoughtful, etc. And to your Dual they will be introducing guys who are more outgoing, and extroverted-ly friendly, so, she needs help too! (The good thing is with her nature she has been dating plenty and knows all about which guys are wrong for her - and she is ready to meet someone like you!). Also in your dual pair (I know you think its SLI/IEE but I think its LSI/EIE - but this applies for either pair, anyway), you are the "I", and you do sort of need to be found and engaged by your "E" Dual... Just try to put yourself in situations where you can be seen. And try to see her (she will be extroverting friendly warmth in the social situation), so you can catch her eye...

    __________
And as to who your dual is, try reading posts of and having conversations with IEEs here - like me - or @inabox or @applejacks, and then also read posts and have conversations with EIEs here like @goldenbane, and you will get an idea who seems more interesting to you. With your Dual it will be easy-reading, and easy-communicating from the start; with your Conflictor there will be more cases of "I'm not relating to this".

And I do think that if you are not romantically interested in your Dual, or he/she is already in a relationship, or they don't share your morals/views/place in life, or they are not the gender you want to date, being friendly, platonic friends with them IRL or here on the forum will really help one get used to what its like interacting one's dual, which is a boost for recognizing one's dual, when the right one shows up IRL...

My husband and I just watched this since I love the trailer you posted here. Its on Amazon Prime [not for free though, they charge you 3.99 for it besides your monthly Prime fee... nothing we have watched on AmazonPrime has been free yet..].

Well I loved this film. My husband did too. He saw, when I mentioned (after I saw him positively responding to certain subtle things), the parallels in our relationship, and how it developed. I also saw parallels between Ila and me*, I even found something familiar about her physicality, and also in Saajan, my husband's personality and I see a parallel in the physicality, too. Even though they are Indian and we are not! I just loved the subtlety and humanity of it the movie. Really great. A Delta movie, I do think. So I see IEE and SLI too. But I am not sure about subtype. It could as well be the other pair (Si-Ne like my husband and I). But one see's oneself..

When she wanted her "Auntie" (I loved how you never saw her, yet you really felt you really know her) to find the old Saajan video, to hear the songs. I really understood how she needed music to match the music in her heart. It reminded me in one of the long stretches of aloneness when my heart was pining for my now-husband, so far away, so long til I would visit again - months - in the start of spring I would see him but it was a long winter first, and I heard, for the first time, what is an old song - Sophie Hawkins As I lay me Down - and the words were the words of my heart, all of them written for me, and her singing, like the lightness I felt - it was so me. And I found it on youtube, and listened, again and again. Here it is, a Delta song, IMO:

[spoiler] At first I was disappointed in the ending; then I realized, they really did tell the ending, as those lunchbox guys always sang when returning the lunchboxes... [/spolier]
[apparently I don't know the trick to doing a "spoiler" - the above was my guess]

    __
*Like making ones whole life being to please your husband, and cooking was one of the things I did to please my ex, and it just doesn't work if he doesn't want it to/can't love back/isn't committed, etc. No matter what you do. Also the great hope she had when the lunchbox came back empty. It made her day and she was so grateful to be appreciated and for the hope it gave her - even though it lasted only a few hours. Also her asking Auntie's advice and following it. I asked a lot of advice and took it in effort to make my first husband love/appreciate me. And I can just see my relation/friend advising me to use those hot peppers if I had been insulted, and my hesitating, her urging me, and them me doing it, knowing my hesitations get me nowhere.

One of the most adorable things that I have ever had the joy to watch. IEE-Ne (Fallon) 7w6 so/sx interacting with a graceful Si-SLI 1w9 (?) (Kidman) so/sp. Bewitched might have been a thousand times cuter and more fun with Jimmy; heck, they do have chemistry than Will and Nicole. These guys <3 .

It is totally adorable. I enjoyed that conversation. Wow, you can see how duals and totally miss each other. The introverted Dual at first does not expect the "E" of the dual to be anyone that would consider him, so they end up as passing-ships, when it could have been something... I never typed them IEE-SLI but I do see how that could be there types. I do enjoy Fallon (he gives me that comfortable SLI feeling) so it wouldn't surprise me he is SLI-Si.

I wonder how you pick your subtyping? 7w6 has been a part of my tritype sometimes (by that I mean I have taken a test twice). I imagine it would not be so unusual for an IEE. I can see maybe 1w9 for Fallon - I might call it perfectionist with a calm side. How do you get the so/sx for Kidman? I do get that she seems somewhat "cooler" and less "intense 1:1" than a sx/so, so I sort of see that. I don't know enough about so/sp much but it may add that easy polite reserve Fallon has.

(I just realized Fallon's reaction was a lot like my husband's, when I met him. We had written a few years as friends (who never met), and then we'd stopped writing when our lives each got real complicated, so it had been about 3 years since we wrote. Then I was going to be in CT and I saw he lived 1 mile of my route, and I thought, I should meet my old freind, since I will probably never be in CT again. So I wrote him, not knowing he had a new email address, saying, "Let's meet, I have a little time", and he did not write back, so I thought, well, if he isn't interested I am not going to bother. But on the way home I thought, "I have an hour, I should just stop." So I did, and he came to the door, and I saw immediately he had not gotten my email when he asked if I was a friend of his daughter. So when I told him who I was, his old friend he wrote to for years, his face sort of froze in shock, and then he was leaning over hiding his face with his hands, and walking away in embarrassment, akin to what Fallon did there.)

Ah! Okay! I will try to see it from that light. Definitely a possibility!

I'd type Jimmy Fallon as an Alpha, SEI-2Fe.
While Nicole Kidman seems like an ESI to me.

No wonder they didn't have any deeper connection back in the day, being Quasi-Identicals.

In another video, Nicole talks about how they met again at a dinner party after their "date", and again nothing really happened.

Not sure if those are duality or even delta. I just googled couples & picked the pictures that felt good but I think the theme is good enough,
    what do you think?

Male Delta ST with Female Delta NF
    (SLI-Te + IEE-Fi fits the best).

@Medusa your taste in duality pictures is the greatest regardless of the quadra (don't remember alpha's pictures though)

Complementary to my Gamma Duality post:

Brunette: Jungkook, SLI SP/SX. Incredibly shy, lifts weights, likes Robert D. Jr., eats six bowls of ramen in under 20 minutes, and cries like a waterfall once a year.

Blonde: Taehyung, IEE SX/SO. Not from this earth, always needs hugs, voted #1 favorite by gay men in Korea, thinks the twin moles on his arm are elephant eyes.
