So I'm new and a bit confused. I scored as an INFP, yet when I took the socionics test I scored as an INFp. I thought INFP converted to socionics is INFj. Is there a rule , though?

Nope no such rule. Type yourself in socionics from scratch, disregard MBTI.

In pure theory, there is a rule that FiNe must equal FiNe, therefore INFP=INFj. However, in practice, based on actual specific function descriptions for MBTI and/or Socionics, there is little correlation observed, mainly because function descriptions in the two theories don't always match up.

I am LII (INTj) and probably INTP in MBTI, (or at least some INxx weirdo), but not all LIIs are INTP, not all INTPs are LII, etc.

In short: disregard MBTI and type yourself in Socionics. Have fun!
