    Default Temperament test - Eysenck

I discovered this one that I found interesting:

    http://similarminds.com/eysenck.html

Extroversion results were moderately low which suggests you are reclusive, quiet, unassertive, and private.
Neuroticism results were moderately high which suggests you are worrying, insecure, emotional, and anxious.
Psychoticism results were medium medium which suggests you are moderately self interested, willful, and difficult, while still respecting the well being of others.

Prior to Eysenck's discovery of Psychoticism, he correlated his original two traits (introversion and neuroticism) with an ancient greek personality system known as the Galen types (Melancholic, Choleric, Sanguine, Phlegmatic). Below is a plotting of your introversion and extraversion scores on that map.

Another image in colour to present the theory:

This test reflects the ideas of Hans Eysenck a pioneer in the field of personality research. Through research and statistical analysis he determined that personality is composed of three main elements: Extroversion, Neuroticism, and Psychoticism. Most current researchers agree on the significance of the first two traits, but there is less consensus on the third (so he may be wrong about it's central importance but it clearly plays some role in personality). Most people will score lower on Psychoticism. While Psychoticism implies more negative qualities than the other two traits (typically), a link has been found is several studies between higher creativity and higher scores on Psychoticism.
Here are your results on each dimension:

Extroversion results were low which suggests you are very reclusive, quiet, unassertive, and private.
Neuroticism results were medium which suggests you are moderately worrying, insecure, emotional, and anxious.
Psychoticism results were moderately low which suggests you are, at times, overly kind natured, trusting, and helpful at the expense of your own individual development (martyr complex).

Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

    Sanguine temperament

Considering I am moderately pissed off on a Monday morning I expected these results to reveal satan incarnate.

Edit: Seems to me that big 5 personality test encapsulates these 3 traits, psychoticism being Agreeableness. Big 5 takes it further by expanding on the dimension of openness, although I am not sure if openness correlates with ideas and creativity. Pychoticism (Agreeableness) has been shown to correlate with increased creativity according to these test results. I can actually see this because to not follow the crowd intrinsically comes from having ones own original thoughts and actions, rather than being more inclined to fit in and please others, and original thoughts and viewpoints would result in having more unusual ideas ergo creative ones.

    Or not haha

You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the one you seek.
But first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril.
You shall see things, wonderful to tell. You shall see a... cow... on the roof of a cotton house. And, oh, so many startlements.
I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the ob-stacles in your path, for fate has vouchsafed your reward.
Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation

Neuroticism results were moderately low which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.

Psychoticism results were moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly selfish, uncooperative, and difficult at the expense of the well being of others [I'm working on this issue.]

    Classical Element Adler[12]
    Melancholic Earth Avoiding
    Phlegmatic Water Getting
    Sanguine Air Socially useful
    Choleric Fire Ruling
    The four temperament types

Each of the four types of humors corresponded in ancient times to a different personality type. These were associated with a domination of various biological functions. Lievegoed suggested that the temperaments come to clearest manifestation in childhood, between approximately 6 and 14 years of age, after which they become subordinate (though still influential) factors in personality.[13]

    Sanguine

The sanguine temperament is traditionally associated with air. People with this temperament tend to be lively, sociable, carefree, talkative, and pleasure-seeking. They may be warm-hearted and optimistic. They can make new friends easily, be imaginative and artistic, and often have many ideas.[14][15] They can be flighty and changeable; thus sanguine personalities may struggle with following tasks all the way through and be chronically late or forgetful.[16]
Pedagogically, they can be best reached through awakening their love for a subject and admiration of people.[16]

    Choleric

The choleric temperament is traditionally associated with fire. People with this temperament tend to be egocentric and extroverted. They may be excitable, impulsive, and restless, with reserves of aggression, energy, and/or passion, and try to instill that in others. [14][15]
They tend to be task-oriented people and are focused on getting a job done efficiently; their motto is usually "do it now." They can be ambitious, strong-willed and like to be in charge. They can show leadership, are good at planning, and are often practical and solution-oriented.[14] They appreciate receiving respect and esteem for their work.[16]:20
Pedagogically, they can be best reached through mutual respect and appropriate challenges that recognize their capacities.[16]

    Melancholic

    Main article: Melancholia
The melancholic temperament is traditionally associated with the element of earth. People with this temperament may appear serious, introverted, cautious or even suspicious. They can become preoccupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world and are susceptible to depression and moodiness. They may be focused and conscientious. They often prefer to do things themselves, both to meet their own standards and because they are not inherently sociable.[15][14]
Pedagogically, they can be best met by awakening their sympathy for others and the suffering of the world.[16]

    Phlegmatic

The phlegmatic temperament is traditionally associated with water. People with this temperament may be inward and private, thoughtful, reasonable, calm, patient, caring, and tolerant. They tend to have a rich inner life, seek a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and be content with themselves. They tend to be steadfast, consistent in their habits, and thus steady and faithful friends.[14][15]
Pedagogically, their interest is often awakened by experiencing others' interest in a subject.[16]
People of this temperament may appear somewhat ponderous or clumsy. Their speech tends to be slow or appear hesitant.[14]

“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung

Extroversion results were moderately low which suggests you are reclusive, quiet, unassertive, and private.

Neuroticism results were moderately low which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.

Psychoticism results were low which suggests you are overly kind natured, trusting, and helpful at the expense too often of your own individual development (martyr complex).

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Well this is a simple test to take. My results put me in "Sanguine" which fits with what I know of myself and of IEE as well.

I do not know how you got your charts to print; I tried, but it didn't work. But here is my result with no chart:

    Extroversion (sociability) |||||||||||||||| 65%
    Neuroticism (emotionality) |||||||||| 39%
    Psychoticism (rebelliousness) |||||| 25%

Psychoticism results were low which suggests you are overly kind natured, trusting, and helpful at the expense too often of your own individual development (martyr complex).

Hey, TJ, as a Melancholic, you are opposite the Sanguine, where you would expect to fall if you were IEE - which you were once thinking was your type. I saw once where which of the 4 temperaments are which if the 16 types but i am not sure where they are. I do know think that SLI is Melancholic, and so might also be LII, though I am not sure on LII... Interesting!

Subteigh, that you are so high in Pessimist may explain some of our discussions!

I sometimes have my own ideas about people's typings here, that at times do not agree with those person's self-typings. I have often thought that @Galen is ILI, and I have wondered if you are ILI as well. (Though my internal jury is out on that one. It feels pretty conclusive that Galan is ILI, FWI). In light of this, I find that your

27 - 72- 25 breakdown very interesting, in light of the fact that Galan's is:
    40 - 60 -40.

    Similar ratio.

Default 4 Temperaments and MBTI 16 types

    This is interesting to consider:

    The four temperaments based on:
    Assertive (EJ)
    Stable (IP)
    Receptive (IJ)
    Flexible (EP).

Assertive (Choleric) Temperament – ENTJ, ENFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ

These types are characterised as restless, proactive and leader-like, and are the personality types who are led by an extraverted judging function: either Fe or Te. Other characteristics of assertive types are: difficulty relaxing or remaining inactive, a tendency towards quick but purposeful movements and an energetic but balanced energy level throughout the day.

Stable (Phlegmatic) Temperament – INTP, INFP, ISTP, ISFP

These types are characterised as calm, thoughtful and methodical. Stable temperaments are led by an introverted judging function: either Fi or Ti. Other characteristics of the stable types are: balanced and stable mood, slow but somewhat rigid movement and generally unexcitable, remaining calm even in crisis.

Receptive (Melancholic) Temperament – INTJ, INFJ, ISTJ, ISFJ

Quiet, conscientious and internal is probably the most accurate way to describe the receptive temperament. All receptive types have an introverted perceiving function as their dominant: either Ni or Si. Typically these types are go-with-the-flow and have flexible, unhurried movements. Another inclination of theirs is a low energy level and a tendency towards inactivity for long periods without discomfort.

Flexible (Sanguine) Temperament – ENTP, ENFP, ESTP, ESFP

Flexible temperament types are characterised as the mobile, impulsive risk-takers, with an extraverted perceiving function dominating their personality: either Ne or Se. Other traits are energetic, cat-like movements, general open-mindedness and often optimism. The most noticeable characteristic is a habit of working in “bursts” of energy – shifting from relaxed inactivity to impatient action – often several times a day.

I didn't score "high in Pessimism"...I scored high in Introversion (one trait), and high in Neuroticism (another trait). You might as well say I score "high in Depression" for all the good it would do: my results demonstrate nothing about my general outlook for the future (which is emphatically positive...unlike Christian doctrine for example).
