    Default British Politicians II

I'm posting an update to: http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...sh-politicians
in time for the 2015 General Election.

Many typings will have come about from private discussions with other individual\s (those people will know who they are) - I will underline such typings in blue because they are not typings I came up with but which I agree with (or can agree with). I'll put some typings in red - those where I think someone else came up with the typing or if I know someone other/s came up with a typing, only I'm not sure what it is! I will also put each politician's name in the colour of their party, to make things confusing.

It would be good if threads could be made for the politicians of other countries (the USA, France, Germany, Italy etc. would be particularly interesting).

    .................................................. .....

David Cameron (Prime Minister, leader of the Conservatives) - SEE

Ed Miliband (leader of the Labour Party) - ILE - I agree with @mu4's suggestion for now.

Nick Clegg (leader of the Liberal Democrats) - IEE

Nicola Sturgeon (First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party) - ? (she reminds me of Alex Salmond partly for obvious reasons, I don't really have a strong opinion as I don't really know her, but I had thought something like xSxP or ESI)

Nigel Farage (leader of UKIP) - ?

Natalie Bennett (leader of the Green Party) - some NF type perhaps (I don't really have an opinion despite her being leader for two years)

John Bercow (Speaker of the House. Originally Conservative but neutral by convention. In the event of a tie in the Commons vote, he is supposed to side with the Government (by convention)) - SEE (I think my own opinion was previously SEI?)

Theresa May (Home Secretary) - LIE (probably -dominant)

George "Gideon" Osborne (Chancellor of the Exchequer) - SLE

Philip Hammond (Foreign Secretary) - ? (no opinion)

Michael Gove (Chief Whip) - have thought ILE for a while

Liam Fox (former Defence Secretary) - can't remember my previous thoughts.

William Hague (Leader of the House + First Secretary of State, former Conservative leader, former Foreign Secretary etc.) - LIE

Eric Pickles (Minister for Communities and Local Government) - LIE

Ken Clarke (former Chancellor of the Exchequer, former Home Secretary etc.) - LIE

Michael Howard (former Conservative leader) - LSI

Baroness Warsi (former Minister) - ESI

Sir John Major (former Conservative Prime Minister) - ILE works

Michael Portillo (former Conservative Defence Secretary + Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer...no longer a member of the Conservatives or a politician!) - LSI

Yvette Cooper (Shadow Home Secretary and marginally the current favourite to be next Labour leader. Wife of Ed Balls although she didn't adopt his surname for some reason) - EII (I quite like this typing)

Andy Burnham (Shadow Health Secretary) - his type is something of a mystery to me, but I'll say IEI as he has nice eyelashes.

Ed Balls (former Chancellor of the Exchequer. Husband of Yvette Cooper) - LIE

Alan Johnson (former Home Secretary) - I currently think LSE. Exxj at any rate.

Harriet Harman (Shadow Deputy Prime Minister) perhaps IEE, or maybe EIE

David Miliband (former Labour politician who is 'retired' from politics) - LIE

Gordon Brown (former Labour Prime Minister) - ILI

Tony Blair (former Labour Prime Minister) - I currently think LIE

Tim Farron - I currently think LIE

Vince Cable - I settled on LII before...I don't know why I ruled out say SLI or LIE...he's not really been newsworthy recently for me to have an opinion.

Charles Kennedy (former Liberal Democrat leader) - ESI

Paddy Ashdown (former Liberal Democrat leader) - LIE

So, basically, the majority of our politicians are LIE'rs.

maybe it's selection bias or a genuine trend or just me using it as a default typing in some cases where I'm less sure.

Alex Salmond SLI? Haha no way.

I was seeing him as SEE and Nichola Stergen as ILI.

this is a terrible use of Te

All these pictures of people with so many types, how can you post this without checking if they are all right or not?

It is a pointless exercise to begin with, but maybe you have nothing else you'd rather do?

I'll put up some more, generally less prominent politicians who are supposed to be in the running for their party's leadership and/or should be more prominent in years to come.

    Theresa Villiers (Northern Ireland Secretary)

    Sajid Javid (Culture Secretary)

    Jeremy Hunt (Health Secretary)

    David Davis

    Grant Shapps (Conservative Party Chairman)

Daniel Hannan (Member of the European Parliament)

Zac Goldsmith - he seems quite unusual for a Tory

Nicky Morgan (Education Secretary + Women and Equalities Secretary)

    Justine Greening (International Development Secretary)

    Peter Bone - maybe LSI

@Subteigh That's quite an extensive list for someone of another nationality. I take it you follow British politics?

I'm British. Yes, it is certainly one of my interests although I don't envision entering into politics for at least another decade.

Oh, I thought you were Danish.

What political leaning are you? Well, I say that: you're most likely centre-left I'm guessing. Labour or Liberals?

    Or UKIP. Haha.

This Week typings (a weekly BBC show about politics)

Andrew Neil (the host/presenter): SLE (EIE or SEE would be my secondary guesses)
Michael Portillo (regular guest, also presents other TV shows in his own right): LSI (@Expat typing, or at least it was, years ago)
Diane Abbott (regular guest, although she probably will not be now that she is a Shadow Minister...could still make an occasional appearance: I have thought ESE for a long time, but have been considering that she might be a Beta extrovert
Alan Johnson (essentially if not actually DA's long-term replacement as a regular guest): LSE
Miranda Green (former press secretary to Paddy Ashdown, a former Lib Dem leader...a semi-regular guest. When she appears, she is not there for the whole program, and since the 2015 general election, the BBC also seem to be alternating her with an UKIP representative or similar (maybe other parties are included?), in line with how UKIP got more votes than the LDs: LIE

what about LSE for Diane Abbott, LSI for George Osborne, and SLE for Boris Johnson? just some possibilities. not that I really wanna type Tories into Beta lol

also I'm surprised you have Cameron as SEE, I also think he could be that type, but usually he gets typed LSE.

I find it difficult to type Abbott objectively, as I don't like her. All your suggested typings could absolutely work. In regards Cameron...although he is the Prime Minister, he just doesn't interest me from a psychoanalyst (!) point of view. We've discussed the types of politicians rather a lot privately in the past in addition to all the various forum posts we and others have made, to the extent I can't quite recall what we said about Cameron's type ...I just recall remembering that SEE and EIE seemed about as good suggestions as any (I put that typing in colour because it was more one that I had been persuaded of rather than one that I had considered independently and/or one I had rationalised completely with my own "system" of understanding).

Abbott and Portillo were both at school together (and have known each other since that time, despite having different political inclinations). Abbott's tutor at university was Simon Schama (I think I once typed him ILI, and @Expat convinced me of LIE...Schama seems to have a greater personal warmth that I had previously noticed, so he is an individual I've been looking into again more recently. But probably cannot make anything of the Schama-Abbott angle, unless they absolutely hated each other, which I don't believe they did!).

An interesting angle (especially now that Corbyn is Labour leader) is that Corbyn and Abbott were once in a relationship together. One of Corbyn's wives (he has beeen married three times) said Abbott once turned up at their house and was incredibly snooty to her...

Many Labour MPs have recently given her the name "Chairman Mao" in regards her attitude...I find her affable on the surface, but there seems to an utterly unthinking autopilot that she reverts to, usually resulting in her making some absurd comments or defending some absurd position.

Angela Eagle (possible future leader of Labour)

My first thought was IEE, but I don't have any strong impressions that would suggest that she isn't an ILE or -leading.

Justine Greening - Education Secretary: have thought ESI for a while, but it is a weak impression.
