    Default Artistic Preference Test

This test will measure your preference for various styles of art.

    Procedure
This test consists of 56 pairs of paintings presented one per page, for each pair select which work of art you prefer. It should take between five and ten minutes to complete (a histogram of how long it has taken other people to complete this test is to the right).

    Use
This test is provided for educational uses only. It is not administered professionally and comes with no guarantee of any kind. Results from the test will be stored and used for research (your participation will be completely anonymously). By taking this assessment you agree to this as well as the full consent form which expands on the above.

Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

I thought this was an interesting test. I prefer Romanticism, followed closely by Realism and Impressionism. Expressionism is my least preferred.

It's scary when my closest match seems to be to what truck got.

Although I was basing upon the paintings themselves, and content rather than method or whatever.

My actual preference is for surrealism, usually. I prefer something abstract on my walls but it depends on the room. My bedroom has a very eclectic style. I also love contemporary Visionary Artists, like Alex Grey

This was a very good test although I did wonder about how fair it was comparing paintings where at least one of them was in a filthy state. People are also disproportionately biased in favour of paintings they already know they like, or feel they are supposed to like (so knowing who painted a picture or knowing what the subject of a painting might bias things, but perhaps not on a fairly large test like this).

I dont know how people are getting the images on here.

    Realism 8
    Impressionism 8
    Post-Impressionism 8
    Classicism 6
    Expressionism 8
    Baroque 3
    Rococo 7
    Romanticism 8

Basically, I learned that I don't like portraits much, so if it's a portrait it needs to have been done quickly (few details), or have some kind of "story" behind it, some kind of context in the picture.

Landscapes I prefer were ones that one can almost imagine being in, not just looking at. Also, nature over houses/cities.

And I'm not sure how this is categorized, but pics involving human structures I prefer to show people in daily life.

So, I guess basically pics in which a story is being told, or nature I can feel I'm in.

I'd say that's accurate I always list impressionism as my first preference.

And liking realism is the bane of my "artistic" existence, lmao
Apparently - as one art professor who liked my art told me - the best stuff comes when I just fly...
(but then I need to almost sit on my hands to stop myself from trying to chisel it... )
