    Default Enneagram.net typings

In the shoutbox @Ollyx2OxenFree posted a link to the test and the code "Study 2014".
What type did it give you? Do you agree? What parts of the test did you think were spot on? Which parts do you think were in error?

    ----

My typing 7w6 741 sp/sx/so. (I will post parts of my test/answer at the bottom of this post, because I would like feedback on what the experts think of the descriptions.)

I think I've an idea of one of the problems I have had in figuring out my enneatype.
I always seem to test sp first, so last. But when sx is described as including one's interests, seeking say mental stimulation as well, then I know for sure that that overrides the sp. So I would switch the stacking to represent that. But now I recognize that that is probably more related to e7.

I had selftyped as e6 because I most definitely identify with the Head Center. And the past 20 years has been a whirlwhind of anxiety, questioning, doubt, insecurity, etc. i know i seek security, in both body and mind. But it turns out that that might be more related to SP than e6, especially since I've always had problems with half of the e6 descriptions regarding duty, loyalty, authority, etc.

A couple of months or so ago I started looking back on my life prior to the past 20 years, and i can clearly see that I was definitely e7. But over time I had lost my joy, got weighed down by the anxieties and duties to helping my daughter be ready and capable of living on her own and supporting herself, and survivng this world. And now that she is grown up, i've been relaxing back into myself, though with an unfortunate still chaotic mind. It won't shut up. So, still head center.

And, I started feeling like I was confusing e7 as sx.

And now, seeing this test, I'm confident that i'm e7 not sx first. And that many people who've tried typing my instinct stacking have ignored the idea that a headtype isn't a gut type nor a heart type. A head type SP is going to worry more and be anxious about SP stuff, without necessarily doing the typical pursuits for tangible resources or the dinners for groups, or expressing their love through cooking, etc.

In summary, for now, I'm satisfied with the typing of 741 sp/sx as portrayed through this particular test/descriptions. That does not mean that other people's or site descriptions will fit as well. (That's another problem I have with the enneagram, but nor for this thread.)

Here are the snapshots of some of my answers.

Thanks to Olly for this. I just did it. I will edit your mention in later. It was interesting by the cards I picked it may have me as 4w5 5w6 9w8 I wonder how much the wings change since I can clearly see when I was more 4w5 5w4 9w1. I am going to have to think about it but I have changed a lot in the past few years, for sure. All the core numbers seem to be the same.

    Congratulations Aylen!

Thanks for the Test. I think it's a good one.

    Results as expected:

Top ranked Enneacard overall: Type 6
Top Ranked Enneacard in your Enneaspread: Type 6
    Potential Wing(s): 5
    Potential Tritype: 614
Potential Instinctual Stacking: Self-Preservation > Sexual > Social

What made me unsure was the part in the description about the social instinctual stacking who said that often people with antisocial tendencies have social as last instinct even though it's their first.

If I look at social instincts at Instinctual Subtypes at a Glance
    Source of anxiety:
Sp: Suspense, not surviving and annihilation
So: Loneliness, not belonging and alienation
Sx: Loss of appeal, disconnection and invalidation

I am more anxious about the SO and the SX part. I am seldom afraid of not surviving and annihilation.
@anndelise glad for you you figured E out. I hope I'll figure soon out what's my problem with socionics typing . At least E was always very obvious for me.

When you were choosing between the three statements (for instinct stackings), do you remember what some of your SO related answers were? (You can look at my snapshots to remind you of what the choices were.) I'm wondering how close a score you got between the three.

Ok, so assuming we got the answers matched with the right instincts, your score was
    SP=8
    SO=9
    SX=6

I'm not sure why they gave you the sp/sx/so stacking
    Anyone have an idea?

    Gah, I hate enneagram!

Edited to add: maybe some of the questions took OFF points from an instinct? But I dont know which might do that.

Ok DaftPunk, i will shut up now. I think i feel towards egram like you feel towards socionics. Bah humbug!

Never typed as 5w4 before, but have got 5w6 many times. I've also always thought of myself as more sp-first, but eh.

    Enneacards Enneagram Personality Report
Below you will find your top ranked Enneacard, your six card Enneaspread and your Tritype. If you also took the Instinctual Subtypes Test, your Instinctual Subtype Report will be found below as well.

The Enneacards Test reveals a great deal more than your dominant Enneagram Type. Please take the time to carefully read this report to fully benefit from the profound insights into your behavior, values, and motivation this test reveals.

The Enneacards Test was given to you in two parts. The first part revealed your Enneaspread. The second part revealed your Tritype. To determine your most likely Enneagram Type, you were asked to choose between the results from both sections of the test. This test employs a sophisticated use of pattern sets based on extensive research into the language usage and self-image of each Enneagram Type. The order in which you were shown the Enneacards was predetermined to yield the most accurate results. The first three sets of Enneacards you were shown were arranged in one order and the second three sets of Enneacards were arranged in a different order. This was done to improve the accuracy of your rankings and to yield both your Enneaspread and Tritype. How does the test work?
In the first section of the test you were asked to choose the Enneacard that was most like you out of a set of three Enneacards six times. This has resulted in your choosing a total of six Enneacards from a set of eighteen. These six Enneacards comprise your Enneaspread. From these six, you were asked to choose two final Enneacards and then you were asked to choose between your top two choices. In the second section of the test you were again asked to choose the Enneacard that was most like you out of a set of three Enneacards six times. However, this time the Enneacards were in a new order. This was done to determine your Tritype, your dominant Enneagram Type in each of the three Enneagram centers:head, heart and gut.

Did you read what I wrote or look over my instinct answers?
If yes, what are your thoughts on that?
I'm sure the answers would change somewhat if sx hadn't been so focused on another person, but included the interest/hobby thing. But I'm not sure by how much.

"Choose based on the words, not the images. "

I wonder why they bother having the images ?

Which test is the one with the code? I just tried the "free" one...it gave me E1, with E4 as a secondary type.

I found it very difficult to choose between each of the three options...I think when there is a simple dichotomy and many questions is much better...this kind of test is most unsatisfactory (without taking into account the fact that the enneagram has no meaningful structure!).

Heh, I thought the instinct questions were pretty shit. Making sexual so romantic but more so with the horrible social questions. One was like "I see my mate as a source of prestige and social standing" or something. WTF? A lot of it seemed like some high school "I want to be popular" shit. Haha, I've paid for the test twice in the past. It's ok, I like that it's different as far as the images are concerned but it's too trait-like and some of the cards can be chosen based on your instincts (which they do admit). It's maybe as good as a test could get.

    7. Why: I am not judgmental.
    8. What is your greatest weakness: Not being as action oriented as I should be.
    9. Why?: I gt sidetracked with other things or get lost daydreaming.
    10. What is your favorite color: Purple
    11. What is your favorite symbol: Native American Arrow
    12. What is your favorite creature: Tiger
    13. What is your favorite saying: What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies within you.

    15. I need: to be a good person.
    16. I am afraid of: losing my father.
    17. I avoid: confrontation.

But it doesnt seems the results really came from these answers. Just from the multiple choice & enneacard sections.

Don't think any of those are right, as of now thinking 8w9? 278 sp/sx.

It was a cool test but too transparent imo... the cards were really obviously attributed to enneatypes (though I still kept picking one of the 4 ones because the lady had a spiderweb on her forehead). Would have been a neat test to take if you didn't know very much about enneagram. The instinct questions sucked tho... shouldn't those be incorporated with the enneatype questions?
i chose 4 cards a lot too. the 7 cards were disgusting examples of 7s. i think that's how i ended up 847.

the instinct stuff brought into my mind that i worry about sp stuff a little.
