    Step 1

    Step 2

    Step 3

Stop before you get something taking residence in your beard.

I'm voting for #1, but only if you grow your hair out like the pic as well. Also, you look huggable.

Well the first question is, do you grow a lot of beard - is it full or does it grow in patches ? That should definitely affect your decision for a style. I'm always pro beards, so I support this decision, but you should pick the beard that will suit you, unless you're looking to just experiment or make a statement (#deltahipster ). You seem like you have a more conventional style, so I would go with something shorter for you. Looking for some pics of blonde bearded dudes now

Yeah i know, I've never tried it because my beard wasn't growing equally at all. Now i'm trying it it seems better than a few years back. So it's partly experiment partly hopefully style switch.

Pics of blond beards would be highly appreciated

I'm trying to look a bit less conventional nowadays. This is my style pinterest board and gives kinda the direction i'm moving into stylewise (i'm just super bad at actually buying and wearing the stuff lol).

Edit: I think i'll do a beard picture tonight, that should answer the "type of beardgrowth" question

I think the style of beard you go for should depend on your natural hair growth and how much work you're willing to put into it.

I love facial hair on guys. Richard only uses the trimmer every other week for me. He does look scruffy, and sometimes people will comment on it, but I totally love it, and that he would do that for me. He tried growing a beard, but it didn't look quite right on him. And the upkeep to keep sharp edges for a stylized beard that suited his face was too much to even consider for us. So we went back to just the trimmer eow.

One of my brothers' beards doesn't grow long. It's white/blonde with reddish tinges. It was horribly scruffy initially, and for many years because it took so long for his beard to actually grow out. But now it looks pretty darned good, and he doesn't do maintenance on it. My other brother's beard is flaming red with gray streaks. It gets long and bushy, and he likes playing with it. Sometimes he makes it look even more bushy, sometimes he puts something in it to smooth it down. Both have super long hair, and I think that also influences how well their beards look on them.

    @Reficulris

This is the kind of look I was thinking (apologies for the half nakedness, kinda detracts imo)....

You could also have no.2 or no.5 on your list... as long as you do grow the hair in that unkempt style too... as others have said...

Now this is a story all about how, my type got changed, turned upside down. Just wait for a minute and watch chatbox right there, & I'll tell how Gem became the moderator with blue hair.

In typology central friended and praised, on the picture thread was where she spent most her days. Chilling out, selfies, relaxing all cool, And all typing some people and getting them schooled.

When a couple of girls who were up to no good, Started annoying her & her friends in the forumhood, She got in one little flame war & got pissed off & said 'I'm moving in with that exboyfriend in the forum with the socionics toffs.

So Gem pulls up to the forum for a year without being a hater, And yells to typocentral 'Yo creeps! Smell Ya later', Became a mod in her kingdom she was finally there, To sit on her throne as the mod with blue hair.

yeah, for years my face looked like a girl with too much testosterone when i forgot to shave. Some long patches, others nothing... really annoying. I think mid 20s it finally started to become even.

I think i'm kinda low on testosterone, but it's all good, the men in my family with high testosterone are all fat and bald

Haha! I met a guy who with a beard and hair like Peter Steele, very tall also (about 6ft 4) then when he spoke it all didn't fit very high voice....met him in Blackfriars in Glasgow. Yeah dunno how the old testosterone plays out for sure.

I much prefer you scruffy than clean-shaven (as 90% of ,guys really). It really suits you. I'm also of the opinion that this is more or less the optimum lenght for you, but keep us updated and I might change my mind

Also, since you're going for longer, please follow @GEM 's example . Thank you

Will you be able to contain the itchiness? It drives me crazy imo, after 1 week/10 days I'm starting to lose my mind

P.S: I hope your beard will grow beautifully

Old pics. Hmm, just play with the style until it looks good to you. Doesn't matter what others think really. I personally prefer longer hair with a beard but short can be ok. The only problem is kissing. I don't like to get poked by sharp ones so condition it for their comfort and try to keep it trimmed around the lips.

    I'll do a few things.

First i'll post pics of beards and you can vote. I'll just link every beard that I like (beard porn here we go) and you can say yay or nay. @GEM: feel free to link me cool beards! i'm clueless on beard fashion :'(

Secondly i'll try to do some pictures of the process. Just to keep the motivation up. I'll need pointers about hairstyle changes along the way too so those would be appreciated as well!

    WEEK TWO UPDATE IN OP!

Last few days I really feel like shaving. It itches and normally beardgrowth was an indicator that I was neckledging my health. Now it's deliberate but my body keeps saying "shouldn't you shave?"...

It's not as rapid as I want it to be. It's not as full either. Compared to other men in my family my beard is less dense and because it's blond it's kinda "see through"..... hmm

BUT: I'm still going strong, all kinds of encouragement are welcome and also blond beard pictures for inspiration!

Just saw this thread. I was disappointed as it wasn't about the beaver of which I was thinking about, lol.

Personally, I have a Van Dyke and you can't go wrong with it really. I've gone full out beard before, but my hair density was a little on the low side for it to look great. Most people asked me to shave it. Most people seem to like what I sport now. So if you end up not being happy with the full beard, try the circle beard.
Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

Do you like being bearded? Any soup problems?

I'm on the fence about it, I like facial hair but there's a lot of it. You're cute though.

Refi!!! This is the coolest post ever.

One question- you're smiling in all the first photos. Why no smile with 7 week old face hugger beaver?

I am requesting smiley face beard photo.

Edit: p.s. can you make a little beard ponytail, or put in some bling yet, like a bead or paper clip?? Inquiring minds and all..

    I like the beard!

    It suits your face.

(if you decide not to keep it after next week...... at least keep up the scruff: looks good).

That beard could benefit from a visit to a beard stylist. Some of those hairs are growing faster than others and sticking out whichever which way, while the others are like "wait for us! we need to catch-up! press on comrades!" The end result of this facial hair marathon is looking quite patchy.

I agree that it's time for a trim, but you already know it is, heh.
I love beards, but I think you've already reached and passed the length that suits your face. Anything heavier and your face will be bottom heavy, if that makes sense. Like, instead of looking into your eyes, people will be looking at your beard. I think week 3ish was a decent balance, enough to hide the paleness of chin and jaw and face length, allowing the eyes to pop out more.
