Pro at APA format?

Anyone here a pro at APA format for research papers?

I do have an APA book that I have been referencing for this paper; however, I still have questions that I haven't been able to find answers to in the book or through google.



It's a group paper.We have one person designated as Editor and she has made up her own APA format. I've changed it twice now and she keeps reverting back to hers. And now we are in the midst of an e-mail war to see who is right.

Btw, correct APA format is 20 points to our grade.

It doesn't flow well at all and most of the members have entirely half-assed their part in which every other sentence is a quote. (I'm going to kill them)..... (seriously).


I apologize beforehand for the utter crap that should you volunteer...

most of my questions are regarding title.

and whether page number is a must when citing within the paper.

When you quote, you need to include page numbers. When you paraphrase, I think it is not required, but recommended.

If you are paraphrasing an idea from another work, you only have to make reference to the author and year of publication in your in-text reference, but APA guidelines encourage you to also provide the page number (although it is not required.)

Another source of tension is our title. The editor wants it to be, "The Nurses Role In Safe Medication Administration:
A Review of Literature"

And although it is a review of articles and journals concerning medication errors... I think it's redundant to have "A Review of Literature" as the subtitle, plus not all of the literature we are citing is about the nursing role.

Yay or nay the "A Review of Literature" subtitle can stay or go?

If the paper is written as a literature review, I would put it in the title. I am all about titles that tell you exactly what to expect.

but... our paper is already correctly cited on the reference page. I was asking about actually citing it within the paper. Kim answered purrfectly.

I played around with it only for a second, but from what I saw, it didn't.
