I don't know. I think, it's kind of too much to forbid smacking your children. Because sometimes - although I don't think it's good - it's the only thing that helps. Our neighbour's kid would probably also behave a little bit more normal if he was smacked once or twice. It hurts and it actually hurts the parent more, but if a border had been trespassed...
I may be completely wrong, I really don't know...
