Question Have you ever gone to or donated to a food bank?

Please share your experiences! It can be difficult to get up the nerve and go for the first time, so it might help people to hear about what it's like.

In this thread you can discuss a plethora of topics as fit your personal posting style including but which are not limited to:
    - If you have helped out a food bank
    - If you have visited a food bank in a time of need and if it was useful
    - If you have donated to a food bank and why,
    - If you have not donated to a food bank,
    - If you don't eat food,
    - If you like cartoons which include food.
    - Other topics
    - etc.

If you are sexist in addition to being offended by any of the responses which might pleasantly and with good mirth refer to your signature you can always try posting in your own 'bespoke' moderated thread here -> http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...429#post961429

Well I don't know about you @Kim warning who liked my post, but I certainly raid through my unused surplus and donate it about once every 3 or 6 months. I think its a good thing to do because I hate waste and I often buy things without proper planning.

Useful food is stuff wot keeps.

e.g. Tins/Cans (often the expiration dates are ludicrously conservative)
    Pastas
    Bottles and Jars.
    Carbonated beverages
Bottles of water (which are incredibly overpriced, and in many parts of the world you can't just get clean water from a tap like in the UK)

Out of generosity and since I keep a chocolate cupboard I usually donate the remaining contents at the same time.

I actually warned your post by accident, but I do think it's mean-spirited.

It was. Alright, sorry dolphin and kim. Thread is closed, you can delete it if you want and I'll move the reasonable post to the other thread.
