That makes me wonder if less invested chimps are coerced or manipulated into fighting by more influential chimps. Maybe that's a stupid question.

but really, i think the idea is the willingness to organize ourselves and fight other organizations is a product of being itself, which is essentially not enough time and resources to go around, so at some point lines have to be drawn and enforced, not as a matter of whim but as a condition of existence. the above conspiracy theorizing makes it sound like something we have imposed on us, which is true, but its not by "others" i.e.: the elite, which is exactly just another form of nascent "group warfare", but rather that we organize ourselves as such and conceive of the issues in precisely that way is what results in inevitable conflict, i.e.: war. the irony of the above comic is that it is precisely that way of slicing the issue that ultimately gives rise to conflict, where the true solution is something like getting above it as best we can by seeing essentially "no one" and "everyone" is to blame, i.e.: it is the human condition, and then finding the cure in resolving the shortfalls that gives rise to such finger pointing, i.e. through making the world better via collective effort towards not just the fair allocation of resources, which is a rabbit hole of political intrigue, but through the increased generation of resources, i.e.: to increase the pool on which we draw rather than fight over the scraps, keeping in mind that hardship is a part of life and there is no elite coven behind the curtain necessarily to blame. its just another way to blame God without believing in him literally. its just an accusation leveled at the universe in lieu of understanding how things actually work, positing a faceless other to "send out" all the blame with, rather than looking inward
are people manipulated by the media? sure but only to the extent they allow themselves to be. this idea that the media has the power to send people off to war, which is literally the thing people least want to do, amounts to a flat denial of free will. if you can convince people to do the worst thing ever with such an easy method it renders all of being totally senseless. I don't think people get that. if that comic is true, we are literally living in hell on earth and there is no escape. you can do away with the tv and then what, do the comics control everyone? the newspaper? the next group of elites, the chimp elite? its a dynamic that implicates far more than just "lol the bildergburgs" or whatever. its fundamentally unserious for that reason, which is a shame because many people really do think it captures the essence of things. the bottom line is we do live in hell on earth in the sense that war is possible and that elites do have some measure of control, it is a different sheen on a similar idea though, because it presupposes that to upend things is possible. a much better way to explain the same issue is simply to say that "evil exists in the hearts of men" and not try to send it out with some people you don't even know, which is a cop out. the only way to unwind conflict is to admit there is no conspiracy in play and we are complicit in violence every step of the way
