I theorize that most of the "one parent opposite" cases have the father being opposite and the mother adjacent or same. A mother's desires during pregnancy can impact her child's personality, so I find it likely she was hoping for someone less like the father around to either balance things or to make her quadra dominant.
I'm alpha and my parents are both gamma. My boyfriend is alpha and his parents are both alpha (but I could only vote once so whatevs)
