Default Ladies and gentlemen, do you moisturize your face?

I am very curious to know how many people regularly moisturize their face. I am talking about applying lotion to your face at least once a day (morning or night or both). Is it part of your routine? Sun block, medical creams, semen (I know you want to), and targeted moisturizing (dry skin in the winter) do not fall under this. Poll is anonymous.

Yes, I do, for medical reasons. If I don't and my face gets dry, I get especially prone to breakouts, irritation, and I start scratching which makes it worse. When my face has enough moisture, I don't touch it and the lotion itself will keep my from touching it because I don't like the eeky feeling on my fingers.

The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I try to moisturize daily, but I gotta be honest. Doesn't always happen. I get lazy, or I run out of lotion and payday is still 3 days away. Y'know, stuff happens.

My face still makes its own oil. I "moisturized" this morning because I woke up feeling very dry, but I'm more likely to have the opposite problem.

I don't need it, so nah. I do use a lot of different cleansing products and face masks because I wear makeup when I go out, and it's bad for the skin. It's not that I particularly like wearing make-up, in-fact I hate it, but if I don't people think I'm a kid. It's a struggle because I'm allergic to a lot of make-up

I think a lot of face cleansers and face masks already have moisturizers in them though, so maybe I do to an extent; daily. *shrugs*

washing your face with honey will leave it very moisturized, especially if you let it rest for a couple of minutes before rinsing.using olive oil to take off your make up adds to the effect.don't apply too many chemicals on your face, especially now that ur young and hot.the other day i watched a documentary about creams and among others it said that retinol (mostly used in anti-age creams) may tighten the upper skin layer but it messes up the rest of it.

I don't either. I hate the feeling of sticky lotion on clean skin, so I don't use it at all unless my skin is very very dry (it has to be painfully dry for me to get over my aversion to lotion). But I have always had the impression that this is "what all women do" and not doing it means neglecting yourself. I have bought moisturizer at times because it has to be important, right? I always used it once and stopped.

Now I am 39, no wrinkles, and have made peace with my lotionlessness (my skin is not perfect, but it's fine and the lack of wrinkles is probably the payoff for my sucky metabolic genes). And I thank the heavens for spray sun block - that I can tolerate (plus the smell makes me think of beach). I am actually relieved that I am not alone in this.

Perhaps I should also confess my terrible aversion to hair salons...

Why would we need anything on our faces? Soap makes it dry and then one has to use something else to restore the balance. Moisturizers make the skind dependent on moisturizers. Better to not use soap at all, just water. Eat fruits and berries and healthy stuff. Eating walnuts also makes the skin smoother.

I have to cleanse, use toner, treat if needed, and moisturize daily. I have slightly dry/aging skin at this point, and I think my skin looks and feels terrible unless I go through my regimen. I've been doing it since I was 15, and haven't missed many days (maybe 20 a year). I have only a couple of wrinkles (smile lines). If I try not doing it, wrinkles seem to be more pronounced, actually.

As Kim said, you wouldn't be the first. When I first posted here, my avatar was a woman holding a baby (and also I went with "Baby" as my username... why, I don't even remember), so that threw off basically everyone. I think years of studying literature results in a writing style that reads like a chamomile-sipping country dowager, so there's that.

I use it daily regardless if my face is oily or not mostly just for the sunscreen. I've been using it daily since about the age of 13 and I get told I look younger than my age nearly everyday so it must be working lol

Yeah, especially in the spring-summer since I go cycling 3-4 times a week, my skin is rather dry afterwards, plus the sun etc. etc.

Also, I come from a very very humid region, so my skin is kind of "adapted" to that climate - which means that basically anywhere else in the world my skin will feel dry.

I used to, but then I started to think about it and wonder whether I have actually created the addiction/need for it myself by fucking up the natural oil production of the skin. I decided to quit and see what would happen. The first few months we're difficult, but now I don't really need anything at all. Sometimes after a long shower my skin can feel a little dry but the problem usually fixes itself in an hour or so.

That's because water, especially hot water, strips the oil/moisture 'coat' your skin produces.

    And no, never used moisturizers.

    Default Almsor was

Once daily. No more no less. I usually do it after I've washed and dried my face. I use a very small amount so my skin isn't too overwhelmed or reliant.

I hate sunscreen. I don't know how people coat their faces with it during the summer. If anything, I find it makes my face feel even worse; unfortunate it is necessary.
