    Default Streessssed

How do you process stress? And what are your coping methods? I am quite stressed right now.
Also, do you find yourself vulnerable, resistant, halted, or mobilized by stress? I amcurious to know if Gulenko’s stress article is accurate for you? It seems that different kinds of stress elicit different reactions from me.

    Right/Process rational types: EIE(ENFj) EII(INFj) LSE(ESTj) LSI(ISTj) - vulnerable to stress
    Left/Result irrational types: SLE(ESTp) IEI(INFp) SLI(ISTp) IEE(ENFp) - resistant to stress
    Right/Process irrational types: ILE(ENTp) SEI(ISFp) ILI(INTp) SEE(ESFp) - halted, frozen by stress
    Left/Result rational types: ESE(ESFj) LII(INTj) ESI(ISFj) LIE(ENTj) - mobilized, trained by stress

Apologies if this should be in the article comments section.
You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the one you seek.
But first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril.
You shall see things, wonderful to tell. You shall see a... cow... on the roof of a cotton house. And, oh, so many startlements.
I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the ob-stacles in your path, for fate has vouchsafed your reward.
Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation

I personally have a low stress-tolerance. I deal with stress by retreating from it if it's not something I know I can conquer. As the article mentions for result/irrational types, I wait out the storm.

the article seems to be saying that aristocratic types have issues with stress. as in, they either are very vulnerable to it, or very resistant. no middle ground there

I find work stress much much easier to deal with than emotional stress, which tires me out after a few days and starts putting me in that ugly 'fight or flight' mentality.

Too much stress makes me sleepy, but it takes a lot to get to that point. When people have been demanding emotional responses from me in a really draining way/being hysterical, I have fallen asleep right there and then. There's literally nothing I can do to stop it. Pretty funny. They don't tend to see it that way though

Iris - maybe you could try taking a supplement for stress, like lemon balm, just to help your body out for the time being?

    I'm a walking and talking stress box;

I live in the past and future and never HERE and NOW (S types do) which means I stress out about everything that happened and everything that could.

I need a Sensory type to do things in the NOW so I can stop idealizing, stop thinking about the future and not fret about the things that have already happened. I'm a foresighted, farsighted, type so planning and stressing about my future plans doesn't help. It doesn't help.

    Si PLEASE!!!

THIS IS THE BEST EXPLANATION I HAVE FOR YOU AS TO WHY YOU'RE SLI

You're trying to give advice about someone's internal state of comfort and how they might reach a more pleasant one.

what things they can do in terms of health that may help them establish a healthy balance is just some Si mixed with Te.

    It's just a consequence of process-result and rational-irrational though?

Well... I did ask. Maybe I'll do a video then can type that bad boy. You seem to have some nutty beliefs but it's kind of cute at this point.

I'm a little bit jealous of you, Squirreltual. Falling asleep sounds like an awesome stress reaction to me. I am going to check out this lemon balm.

I know an SLE who for the past 30 years has driven every day all over the mountains in both horrific weather and good, to inspect facilities and whack underperforming managers on the head with a 2x4, and tell them how to do their job better. She loves her job and is quite energized by it. I would have to throw up every day before work if I had that job, I would be so stressed by it. I have never seen her stressed by anything. Does this type not have stress? Not even in the POLR function?

I am capable of both riding and releasing stress, which does not mean that I have been using those options optimally.

I get stressed out about a lot of things. I usually try and run from it by doing some kind of activity/distraction to keep my mind off it. It works for a little while but not really.
