Default How often do you keep up with the news?

How often do you turn on the tv or open a web site for the sole purpose of reading the news?

Richard keeps up with the news. Once in a while he'll comment on something, or I'll glance over at him watching a news video that looks interesting. Otherwise, I'm pretty much like an ostrich with my head in the sand.

I gotta hear it from someone I know or stumble on it by accident. I'd rather focus on shit I can fix right here right now. The news is what I see and what I hear from the people I care about, not whatever gets shat out by "news" making companies who stay in business by producing "news".

Google news is one of my "top visited" sites.

Y'all are making me feel like a dork.

My friend posts tons of news from other countries on her Facebook feed all the time and even though I feel kind of sickened by worldwide murder, starving children, sexism, and bad politicians I have no idea how I'm going to affect any of it so I keep putting my egg cartons in the recycling bin and hope I'm not leaving a bigger toxic footprint on the earth than most people..hohoho.
This. (though i've still a long ways to go regarding my footprint.)
Also, when i do read a news story, I want to know all sides to it, not just the one. I never feel as if I'm being given enough info. And since I can't get the info I want, I withdraw from it all, to focus on what's within my "circle of influence".

Almost never. My parents stopped watching the news because my mother was tired of the constant negativity; since moving out, I can't really bring myself to care enough to keep up with it. I have a separate site I use to keep up with the weather, and I usually hear about recent disasters on Facebook.
