    Default Breakfast for friends

Two friends are spending the night with me at the beginning of their one week trip. What should I set out for them for breakfast before they leave? They don't like you to make a fuss over them, and yet they are picky. (If I ask what they want they will say they will eat anything.) Can you suggest about 3-4 different kinds of healthy foods that will be quick to fix and serve? Please name brands if you have some you really like.

i think scrambled eggs & toast is usually safe.
havent tried this but it looks good.

if you have a bowl of sliced fruit and just happen to leave it on the table for breakfast time it adds to the meal without looking too fussy.

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Yes, steak and eggs are awesome. But you should poach the eggs, and put them on top of the steak.

The steak does not need to be all that awesome, unless your guests are VIPs.

    Lol Eggs Benedict....

Nah I'd just get some pancakes, fruit (bannana etc), jam, spreads (peanut butter, nutella), croisaints/toast/bread, cereal

Then oj, coffee, milk, water, and some other juices

    That should be sufficient.

^That made me laugh every time I thought about it yesterday. I had most of the recommended items already, so I went to the store and got extra cereal, yogurt, fresh loaf of bread and bought some bakery scones to set out. So it looked a lot like Park's list. Eggs, sausage in the fridge ready to cook. Fruit sitting out on the counter all casual-like. So I pick them up at the airport last night. We pass a well known local donut shop on the way home and they say, "Hey we have been craving their cake donut with chocolate glaze. Could we drive through there for breakfast on our way back to the airport in the morning?"

Haha. I actually thought of donuts when I was compiling my list last night but decided not to bring them up for some reason. Maybe it's because I don't usually associate donuts with eating at home.

So these same two friends just came to spend a long weekend with me. I got their room ready, but didn't buy any special breakfast foods because donuts, duh. Right?

Saturday morning we woke up and I said let's go get donuts. They said oh we are trying to eat healthy, so let's just eat here.

All I had in my pantry was one banana and a little bit of Life cereal. Lame.
You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the one you seek.
But first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril.
You shall see things, wonderful to tell. You shall see a... cow... on the roof of a cotton house. And, oh, so many startlements.
I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the ob-stacles in your path, for fate has vouchsafed your reward.
Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation

If they don't like you to make a fuss and are picky, you shouldn't get them anything at all. It's quite common for people even in the first world to not even want anything for breakfast!

Something simple like porridge or gruel or toast is best.

No biggie. You offered an alternative. Unless they've earned some special treatment or are otherwise overly hospitable toward you, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Did you have milk for the cereal or any other digestible liquids?
