    KING RICHARD II:
    No matter where; of comfort no man speak:
    Let's talk of graves, of worms, and epitaphs;
    Make dust our paper and with rainy eyes
    Write sorrow on the bosom of the earth,
    Let's choose executors and talk of wills:
    And yet not so, for what can we bequeath
    Save our deposed bodies to the ground?
    Our lands, our lives and all are Bolingbroke's,
    And nothing can we call our own but death
    And that small model of the barren earth
    Which serves as paste and cover to our bones.
    For God's sake, let us sit upon the ground
    And tell sad stories of the death of kings;
    How some have been deposed; some slain in war,
    Some haunted by the ghosts they have deposed;
    Some poison'd by their wives: some sleeping kill'd;
    All murder'd: for within the hollow crown
    That rounds the mortal temples of a king
    Keeps Death his court and there the antic sits,
    Scoffing his state and grinning at his pomp,
    Allowing him a breath, a little scene,
    To monarchize, be fear'd and kill with looks,
    Infusing him with self and vain conceit,
    As if this flesh which walls about our life,
    Were brass impregnable, and humour'd thus
    Comes at the last and with a little pin
    Bores through his castle wall, and farewell king!
    Cover your heads and mock not flesh and blood
    With solemn reverence: throw away respect,
    Tradition, form and ceremonious duty,
    For you have but mistook me all this while:
    I live with bread like you, feel want,
    Taste grief, need friends: subjected thus,
    How can you say to me, I am a king?

    At first I thought this thread was an undertaking to type all of Shakespeare' s characters lol then I saw you'd posted it under Art.

    I got Gertrude on the quiz (i had to ahem approximate on some of the question choices)
    Here's more details:

    "You are a proud, regal personage. You value tradition and loyalty above all else, and you are wary of those whose motivations are suspect. Once your trust and confidence is lost, it is gone forever. You enjoy the finer things in life: only the most peerless vintage of wine, the best cut of meat, the most artisanal cocktail for you. You are at heart a good and noble soul, and a strong presence, so those below you trust your confidence and grace under pressure"

    ""w you trust your confidence and grace under pressure.

    Not enough Shakespeare in schools. We only did three. Not a great compliment to a man who gave so much to our language.

    But, Shakespeare is better watched than read. Film ok, so long as it retains iambic pentameter, but even better on stage. They actually wanted to recreate the Globe Theatre for ultra-real stage performances in my city but the Ministry of Justice blocked it because it was too close to the Court lol

    You are Lady Macbeth

    “Screw your courage to the sticking-place and we'll not fail.”

    You are a strong, powerful, charismatic personality. People do what you say...or get the heck out of your way. You are practical, matter of fact, and you'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. Your single-mindedness can make you a bit of a loner. Three course meals and fancy cocktails aren't for you - you're far too practical for that frou frou nonsense. Be careful that, in your drive for excellence, you don't push everyone away. You might need friends when you least expect it.

    "Exit pursued by a bear"

    The transition between the tragic jealousy of Leontes and the pastoral of the sheep- shearing feast is made through what can perhaps be best described as black comedy: a bear tears Antigonus to pieces while the old Shepherd finds the babe Perdita*.
    Bears were objects of mirth, even ridicule. Many of Shakespeare's audience would have frequented bear-baiting sessions in buildings within a stone's throw of the Globe.

    I love this

    You are The Weird Sisters

    “What are these... so wild in their attire?”

    You can be hotheaded and impatient, but people love to hang out with you - they know you're the life of the party! No one knows what you'll do next, and that's the fun of it. Lithe and athletic, you wear whatever is comfortable, are willing to visit the weird and scary corners of the world where others fear to tread, and will eat up anything strange and unusual...frog legs, anyone?
